I’m a student from Bangladesh. I’ve recently completed my HSC. I was wondering whether this university would be a good fit for me, also information regarding what qualifications I’d have to meet and how I can receive a scholarship
You are a student from India interested in applying to a university program in Holland, and asking for help from people on a US website.
You give two facts (your nationality and your education level) and ask for opinions as to whether the program is a good fit, but nobody can give you any useful opinions based on so little information.
You ask for information about qualifications and scholarships, so I give you Google: https://www.eur.nl/english/bachelor/admission/
I’m new to this website so I’m not really sure how it works, so I apologize for that.
Also scrolling through some of the questions, I saw some people asking about European universities thus I thought I had the leeway to do so as well.
Also, I’m from Bangladesh, which is a country beside India. And HSC is the equivalent of A levels in the national curriculum of the country.
I intend to major in Economics from a Dutch university.
In the website of the well ranking universities, it doesn’t specify clearly the requirements for someone from Bangladesh. So I’m not really sure what to do.
eeps- mea maxima culpa on the Bangladesh mistake!
So, knowing that you are looking to major in Economics is a start. That you are set on a Dutch university is interesting. But whether it is a good fit for you depends on a lot of things that people here just can’t know: from what you planning to do with your degree to how comfortable you woiuld be in a northern European culture.
All that said: have you looked at the Erasmus site? that is the first place to go.
The requirements for admission to the different Economics courses at Erasmus are available online (here is one: https://www.eur.nl/ese/english/bachelor/application_and_admission/economics_and_business_economics/). As the HSC is equivalent to A levels, take a look at the A level requirements. If your marks seem to be at a similar level, email the university and ask for confirmation.
There are2 scholarships (one for 1 year- you can re-apply for year 2 & 3, but no guarantee you will get it; and one for €5K, for the first year only, and cannot be used to pay the tuition), and the information for both is on the Erasmus website.
