I never saw this reporter on TV, but I can’t imagine how an “educated” person can say such things. Wow!
Her parents must be so proud!
On the bright side, at least we didn’t get the canned “I’m sorry for anyone my actions may have offended.” response !
I dunno . . . her actual apology wasn’t much better. Why not just be honest? “I know I’m smarter, prettier, and more successful than most people. I apologize for forgetting that I’m not supposed to tell them that."
Obviously dumber than most, as the lady as she was being told off, was nice enough to inform her that she was being taped, but that didnt stop her. smh
Really that was just beyond the pale. I have to give the clerk credit as she really kept her cool. Like she had any control over the fact that the woman’s car was towed? Just pay your bill and move on. Hope there is enough backlash from people saying they won’t watch her newscasts that she gets more than one week suspension.
What’s that old saying “pretty is as pretty does”. What an ugly person.
She only got a week suspension. I wonder if it will end up being more. Horrible, horrible behavior. I’m embarrassed for her.
It ought to be more. She showed what she really thinks of people. I’d fire her. She does not project a good image for EPSN.
Wow, I would have fired her on the spot. What a loser.
LOL!! Wikipedia has already included the incident in its article about her! I love that.
Her apology was lame, of course. I think what she ended up doing was showing her true colors. I’d be so mortified if I had a daughter who behaved that way.
She really blew it! Totally lost her cool, and worst of all played the “I am on TV” card, very similar to the “Do you know who I am???” card, but… if you have ever had your car towed by one of those freelance extortionist towing companies you might be slightly sympathetic to her anger and frustration. They can be ruthless, snatching cars away that were inadvertently left in a posted parking lot for moments. And to retrieve your car you have to go far over to the other side of town to the impound lot, where they only accept cash, and you must pay several hundred dollars to cover towing and storage costs. It is quite a racket. But she definitely “chose her words poorly.”
When you are on TV, your behavior will always be gauged and recorded anywhere that you go; Ms. Thang must have been absent the day they taught decorum in her communications class.
I could see losing over a car towing situation. I could see losing my temper and accusing the towing company of being unethical or whatever. But she chose to go for personal insults about the cashier, her looks, her teeth, her education, her weight. She didn’t make it about the towing at all…and she did it all with an arrogant and totally calm demeanor.
I’d be willing to bet the farm that this is something she’s done many times before.
Really? I’m embarrassed for her family.
Let’s hope her employer is equally embarrassed and gives her the heave- ho.
The clerk deserves a great deal of credit for remaining calm. It’s pretty obvious which of the two parties is the classy one.
That was so awful that words fail me. I would never, ever watch any show with her in it. I would only see her ugliness. The towing company employee showed her class, and she was certainly the better person despite the reporter’s high opinion of herself. It was so very, very wrong on so many levels.
And, the ultimate irony is that the ESPN Bimbo thinks she got her job because of her degree.
