do you think it is weird to have written my essay for a piece of art/literature that has challenged me on Crime and Punishment, specifically the Superman Theory?

Ha, I don’t think so. Crime and Punishment is an excellent book, and that is pretty much the major theme throughout the novel. Or at least one of the major themes.

No. As long as it is well-written and thoughtful, you will be fine.

ok thanks…im just really worried because i was waitlisted at 2 of my top choices, Tufts and WM, so im hoping for UVA…do you think OOS and a 2000 SAT is too low? but with a 4.7 GPA

The 4.7 GPA is obviously weighted. It is irrelevant when taken out of context. What is your rank? Your SAT score is a little low for an OOS applicant, but it doesn’t make acceptance out of the question.

my rank is 1/240

It sounds like you have an excellent shot, then. Did you not apply online?

thanks i hope so…no, i applied by paper - i included a resume in place of writing my ec’s and awards on the application, so i wrote see attached - and i was afraid it wouldnt get put together if i applied online…paranoid i know…

i think you’ll be ok. the sat score is low but the rest of your application seems pretty legit. don’t worry about weirdness on that essay; i wrote might about huxley’s “brave new world” and let me tell you, it was messed up haha

i was going to do the same thing because i was scared to put my resume online but whatever, i did it, it ate up like a huge gigantic text box, and i found out i got in 2 days ago. life is totally chillin haha best of luck man

by might i mean mine haha

congrats on your acceptance…i wish i applied online - i want to know now! and i wont get my letter until tuesday :(
