For all the high achievers, valedictorians, and Ivies, have you ever gotten a C transcript wise?
I’ve never gotten a C on a transcript; however, I have failed tests before. Several times.
Yes, I have gotten a C. Not my shining moment.
College - yes. High school - no (I was valedictorian of a small school).
On my report card, yes. On a test, yes. I once got a 55 on a test.
Embarrassing story but I think we have time for it.
It was an open notes test and basically I was not having a good day (you’ll figure out what I mean in a sec). Had to use the bathroom really bad. Unfortunately it was from my mom’s cooking. She has her moments…
I probably should of stayed home that day. My teacher wouldn’t let me use the bathroom until after I finished so I basically rushed through the test because I couldn’t hold it any longer.
Yeah, that happened… (
I probably only passed one tests out of all the ones we took for one of my classes this school year. I won’t go into detail on that one.
Yes. I have gotten three C’s in fact
@shawnspencer "Yes. I have gotten three C’s in fact "
In high school? And you go to William & Mary? Are you in state in VA? This gives hope to many applicants., I’m sure.
I’ve never gotten a C before, but I’m only a junior in high school so that could change soon
Yeah my senior year in high school in 2 AP classes
Yes, 1st semester of sophomore yr chem honors :(( I ended with a 79% this semester (2nd), but thankfully by teacher rounded and have me a B-!!
@OspreyCV22 I am actually an out of state student at the College of William and Mary. What gave it away? I always tell students that I happen to stumble upon that I believe that they use holistic admissions and care about the person you have developed to become or I probably would not have been admitted. I think for borderline applicants, the essay and your extracurriculars are a great way to show who you are. When I received my admissions package, I got a really nice handwritten note referencing a joke I made in my essay. So it can really make a difference
2 C’s and A’s in everything else. Dual enrollment chem with an 80 year old teacher and my 10th grade english class where the teacher purposely told us “only four people were allowed to get an A” in her class. It really isn’t the end of the world.
@shawnspencer Very motivating
I got a D in computer science in 8th grade because I waited for the night before to do a year-long project, and then it didn’t upload properly.
I’m forever ashamed of the 78 that I got in Spanish I. Nobody told me in the eight grade that it would carry over to high school…
No(t yet). But, in middle school, I had a few B-s that were on the verge of becoming Cs.
Got a C in Latin, the first semester of college. Class started at 8 a.m. and I wasn’t even awake until halfway through each session.
Yes. I’ve gotten a C in chemistry last year, which I really struggled with. This year I got a C in Spanish III, but that wasn’t my fault. I transferred schools in January. The first school’s “Spanish 3” would be considered Spanish I in this school, so I’m very behind! Good thing I did so well at first, or I may not have passed for the year.
I failed three tests straight up F on English tests but on my report card it was a B- and I had a mental breakdown because I usually get straight A’s in every quarter but my teacher told me my average for her class is still an A so I am still in the clearing. I just came to a conclusion life is not all about a number/letter on a paper. I am not valedictorian I doubt that I ever will be because the ranking system in my school is rigged, done by a committee of adults choosing top 20…but I have done my fair share of grades below an A and I think I just pull perfects to pull it back to A…I have bad habits with my classes…My grade point average is still an A hehe
