Every Single Fraternity Ranked

pc- i actually like mixing with the “lower” frats…they try harder to make sure we have a good time, unlike some of the “uppers” who feel like they are just forced to be there and dont care about us at all (unless we were in the “top 4” sorors…then they amp up the party and their interest level)

and cornell2011…dont get your hopes up…i doubt any of us would reveal which one we were in

i dont know any guys in Zeta Psi, so i cant make any judgements
but, judging whether a frat or sor is ‘cool’ or not is based on personal preferences and isn’t something that has been established or set in stone
for example, i think that some of the highest-ranked frats are filled with some of the most ‘uncool’ guys i’ve ever met. while, some of the guys i know in lower or middle- ranked houses are some of the ‘coolest’ guys i’ve met.

threads like this have been ongoing for a while. while it’s a pretty juicy topic to talk about, it doesn’t really do anything but put superficial ideas about houses into the minds of members of the cornell student body. if i had chosen the sorority that was the highest ranked out of all the sororities i final rounded, i probably would have depledged within a few weeks. instead, i chose a house that i felt the most comfortable in, ignoring CC and juicy campus established ‘tiers’, and i can spend the next three years knowing that i have a support system fiiled with like-minded girls. this, in and of itself, is pricless.

and typically, CC posters don’t reveal their houses.

ok…this is cool. I was just going to say that some sororities would have biased perceptions of certain frats because they don’t pay attention to them as the “top four”

i am a member of one of these said ‘top four’ sororities, but i have tons of friends in other houses that are amazing people

you might want to ask yourself what sort of fraternity or frat boy would treat girls in a sorority disrepsectfully because they aren’t in a ‘top’ sorority…i dont think this would merit a ‘biased’ perception. a guy is trash if he treats any girl disrespectfully without getting to know her first.

“makes you think how many would have pledged “lower” sororities before knowing their “ranking” and “reputation” on campus”

Just wanted to make a comment related to this. I almost 100% blame the downfall of AOPi on the internet and “animals on parade” being posted all across the web. As websites like this get more popular they get less n less pledges and will just get shut down.

I also agree w/ the statement about mixing w/ the diff tiers. Some of the really fun ones come from sororities u wouldn’t expect to be fun and visa versa. U really can’t tell until u c how many ppl show up and everyone’s attitude.

^^I have friends who used to be in AOPi…and they have a lot of internal issues that don’t help their situation (although I hear they’ve made great strides in working on them)…in addition to what is said on public forums.

Idk, I sort of doubt what is said HERE has that much effect on frat/sorority reputations for the majority of people at least.

one of the previous frat/soror ranking threads (created sometime before rush) caused such chaos that it had to be deleted…i think that parts of it were published in the school newspaper and it got out of hand

greek scene is responsible for cornell’s conservative undercurrent

Yeah…that was intense. I got myself in trouble with that thread :-)

I wasn’t just talking about this site. Juicycampus was infested with such comments (including a copy n paste of the rankings from this site). N ya some of my friends r in sororities trying to help AOPi recruit (there are like 5 sororoties helping or something like that) cuz from wat I hear they raise more money for their charity than all other houses combined. Also have a good alumni and national base I guess. Granted I wouldn’t mix with them…but I do feel bad for them :</p>

^^Well…it’s good to know that other chapters are willing to help them. The increase in their money raising efforts didn’t really start until last year…btw :-)

Yeah…I do feel bad for AOPi. I don’t have the kindest feelings for them…but they’ve apparently worked hard for the last 3 years and it would be a shame for them to go off campus.

Anyone know what happened to Psi U?

I heard they were caught w/ drugs so the alumni punished the frat as a whole as well as deactivated the pledges…but that could just be a rumor so if anyone really knows please say…

if it was a hazing infraction it would be detailed at hazing.cornell.edu

O maybe I stated that a little incorrectly…they didn’t deactivate the “pledges”, they deactivated the most recent pledge CLASS…they were brothers already so it’s not hazing. Still tho…only wat I heard

first of all hazing.cornell.edu hasn’t been updated in a very long time. there are a ton of hazing violations that houses get in trouble for that aren’t put on the site. secondly, just wait until school starts in august to find out wxactly what happened.

with the loss of psi u and sigma pi i guess zeta psi just moved up to spots haha.

ah…I haven’t checked the site in while anyway so I wouldn’t know what’s posted.

it is kinda sad since psi u and sig pi were considered top houses :|

um…you sure about that
