Exie come back

@ExieMITAlum, you have been such a long-time, generous & valuable contributor to this site. I will be sad to see you leave us because of an ugly exchange w one poster.

Come back please

Exie - thanks for your wise advice and counsel to so many of us on this forum. If you need to take a break, I understand. Just know that you are appreciated by many, and we’d love to have your insights whenever you want to rejoin the conversation.

+1

Lining up.

+1

We were at revisits, so I have been off the board and missed the ‘drama’…

All I know for sure is that this board is richer and wiser because of ExieMITAlum’s contributions!

Seriously, Exie, come back.

Here’s a little joke to lighten the mood: :D

Why did Exie decide to leave?
So she could change her user name to ExitedMITAlum!

(Sorry, just came up with that on the spot :))

Exie, please come back from self-imposed Exile!

Exie

You have given us all great counsel!!! Don’t penalize us because of one lousy poster!

You’re advice is sage and very much appreciated!

PLS come back!!!

How will I ever get my DD through college?!

Waves lighter back and forth in the air…
(Old folks reference…real old folks!)

Come back! Even though when I first saw your username, I thought you were obsessed with Pokemon music. :p

Exie come back… any kind of fool could see … I was wrong … and I just can’t live without you

(even older reference – anyone remember Hall & Oates?)

She’s gone …oh I, oh I, better learn how to face it. She’s gone… oh I, oh I, Pay the devil to replace her.

sorry…couldn’t resist. I believe every situation in life has a Seinfeld and now perhaps a Hall & Oates reference.

Waaiiit!!! Exie’s gone? I just had a super super helpful PM exchange with her yesterday. (My dd is going to do a year abroad on the same program as her daughter did.) I don’t post much but have been lurking on and off of these Prep School boards for over three years. Yes, she’s a strong voice, but she’s been incredibly generous and informative over the years. Bummed. Wish we’d exchanged email addresses :(

All I will say to Exie is, while I do occasionally appreciate your valuable insights, learn to take criticism before spewing out vitriolic remarks to other posters.

I admire Exie because she takes the time to participate, she’s not afraid to mix it up, and there’s much to learn from her postings. Personally, I thought Alden’s comments crossed a line (and it’s possible that converge12 is Alden renamed). I understand why Exie would want to pause to consider whether Alden is just an online crank or someone to be concerned about. I think he is (was) just an angry, slightly bigoted guy who looks for online fights, akin to those nut jobs who post comments on news sites underneath the articles.

Exie, I hope that you’ll reconsider getting back on the site when you’re ready.

Agree, Parlabane…and PM’d Exie with almost those exact thoughts.

Choatie Mom, my senior year high school girlfriend would crank up Hall & Oates every time we were in the car. When Paddock quoted “she’s gone, oh I, oh I …better learn how to face it” it was flashback time!

The fact that we’ve dedicated a thread to a poster speaks volumes for her value. I really don’t believe she’s gone…oh I, oh I…must. stop. this. nonsense.

But you can all come over to my house and listen to Abandoned Luncheonette on my record player.

I am laughing out loud at all the dated references. FWIW, I am right there with you!

@ChoatieMom - only if it will make you smile, Sarah? ok…that was the last one.

Wow!! I just stumbled across this thread. I have not been online for the last 2-3 weeks. I am forever grateful for all of the advice given to me by Exie throughout my daughters application process. My daughter was accepted to 5 of the 6 schools she applied to. I can honestly say that Exie did a phenomenal job of guiding us, helpful tips, keeping “my” head on straight, and just holding me up when I really just felt like the whole application process was stressing my d out to the max (so many essays to write, interviews to go on etc), and tearing apart my life for having to watch, learn, support, and plan trips, etc. Had it not been for Exie, we might not have applied to boarding schools. Had it not been for Exie, I might have broken down myself early in the process. Had it not been for Exie, I would not have had all the valuable tips she so perfectly put into my head. While I spent many hours on CC searching for info, the “ONE” most important poster who provided us with the most valuable information, time and time again was Exie. Result 5 out of 6 acceptances. My daughter got herself into these schools, but it really might have never happened had there not been a poster named EXIE. My sincere thanks to EXIE! I owe you big time.
