Explain this odd GPA jump

A fellow classmate had a 2.50 GPA her 1st 9 weeks that jumped to a 2.70 in her 2nd 9 weeks. I believe her 1st 9w grades were B,B,B,B,B,A and her 2nd 9w were A,A,A,B,B,B. How did her gpa jump a monstrous .20 points? UNWEIGHTED GPA

.2 is nothing. I went up a good .3 this year, and for no reason in particular.

.2 is something. .02 is nothing. Do you think her GPA will hit 3.0 or higher by the end of the year? I’ve never seen such a jump. o.O

Her grades obviously weren’t what you think they were if her GPA is below a 3. That’s impossible with nothing lower than a B. With the grades you listed, her GPA would be a 3.1666. Her second 9 weeks GPA would be a 3.5. Regardless, that significant jump isn’t abnormal.

She is a junior though. I’m guessing her grades were **** her first 2 years
