Extra-long twin sheets in Jersey

That’s as in Jersey the material, not Jersey the state.

So, further proof that my D is the Pickiest Child Alive: she’d really like jersey sheets for her dorm room, preferably in a pattern or stripe. The closest I’ve found is a fitted sheet from the Company Store in some great stripe combinations, but they don’t sell an extra-long flat sheet, only the extra-long fitted. (Do you need an extra-long flat sheet as well?)

Any suggestions as to where to find pattered jersey sheets in extra-long twin size?

I thought I saw some in target although i could be mistaken…

must they be patterned?
we bought these and they are very nice:

get the x-long fitted sheet with a regular sized flat sheet that has the same pattern or get it with a duvet cover from somewhere like the Company Store or Ikea. Top sheet or cover does not have to be x-tra long to fit.

Seems most jersey sheets are solids, but this indicates that there may be something out there…

Is she very tall? If not, you really do not need the XLflat sheet.
You could also go with a solid XL fitted sheet and then a print flat sheet/duvet cover and pillow case.

JC Penney has a great selection - and they’re inexpensive also. JCPenney

Thanks, all! Mafool, we did buy that set from BB&B “just in case”, but if I could find some funkier sheets I’d buy those too… hence the questions about extra-long versus regular twin.

D is about 5’6" - so not too tall. I’m seriously thinking about those striped sheets from the Company Store.

Domestications catalog in today’s mail had jersey twin XL in several colors for $17.99 per set! No patterns that I noticed, but that will cease to be important rather quickly.

scout - I love those striped sheets from Company Store. You should be fine with a regular twin top sheet.

Haha, Scout! When I first read the title of the thread, I thought ‘fabric or state?’. Anyway, Patsy is correct; Target does have them.

TJ Maxx and Marshalls are selling X-long twin jersey sheets (Tommy Hilfiger and Laura Ashley) for about 12.99 - $19.99 a set (Flat, fitted and pillowcase.)

Yep, I saw the jersey sheets at TJMaxx yesterday!

Target; Walmart; Bed, Bath, and Beyond…

Yes, when I saw the title, I immediately thought

I"m sure that New Jersey stores have XL sheets!

Your D and my S must be soul siblings. S wanted patterned sheets because they show less dirt and stuff. Yep, I suppose he could wash them, but … And he is VERY picky about their softness. He likes flannel or the jersey knit. He had the jersey knit from BBB last year and liked the comfort, but wants it in a pattern. I have not been able to find that at all, so he may have to deal. The green butterflies pattern was cute, but don’t think that would go over well for him! I’ll be watching this thread to see if anyone has seen any knits in patterns.

Oh, and we also found that the regular Twin fitted sheets fit the XL twin mattresses just fine. And that was over a mattress topper as well. But that was just our experience, YMMV.

My kids both had jersey knit sheets for the XLong twin mattresses. In both cases we did NOT buy Xlong…they were simply too deep and too big. We bought regular twin size jersey knit sheets which stretched nicely over the foam topper and mattress pad of the xlong beds with no problem. Remember that the sheets now have VERY deep pockets. AND many of the xlong beds in college are also x narrow. You can buy regular size twin sheets almost anywhere. Neither of my kids had patterned sheets.

S3 liked the jersey sheets and we got him plain gray. Did not show the dirt and I know the only time they got washed was when I convinced him to bring them home. He never found the bag of quarters I put with the laundry detergent. .

Singersmom07 ~ LOL, mine either! So at least I had a full bottle of detergent and all my quarters back!

LOL- My s#2 is collecting quarters for the NOLA trolley. He doesn’t plan to “waste” them on laundry! I have found that the little individual sized packets of laundry detergent were more appreciated as they were easier to carry around to/from the laundry room (older s’s report). He also said that the regular size twin jersey sheet fit just as well as the xtra long (as kitty56 said) but both get stretched out in weird shapes and become hard to fold (he actually folded them-- or tried!)
