extracurricular and awards advice

Hi,
I am a junior who is attending a small, parochial school in a rural neighborhood. My school has very limited clubs and I cannot join sports because of the state law (I am an international student). I am currently in math team, nhs, student council, knowledge bowl, and art club. The rural neighborhood does not have much to offer either. Are there some things that I can maybe do online? Plus, I have received some regional and conference awards and acknowledgements in these clubs, but I feel like I am nothing compared to some people on this website who have won national honors. My school can’t help me really either. What do I do? This can negatively affect my admissions to the top colleges, right?

Also, art club at my school doesn’t have leadership positions, but I have directed projects in the past. How should I get this across when I am applying for college?

Thank you in advance!

Read Cal Newport’s “How to be a High School Superstar”…it gives you ideas how to take something and make it into a great EC.

It might be helpful to do things outside of school…is there a problem that many people have in your neighborhood?
Can you start a coat drive? Start a local “blessings in a backpack program”?

Give talks about your country?
There are many many good colleges…there is one for you.

For art club you would put:

Art Club, grades 9-12, Project Director. Was project director for a mural that was painted in the school. Organized sketching, assigned students to tasks, interacted with administration, raised funds for paint.
