Hello,
I am currently an incoming 10th grader and am thinking of creating a virtual computer science club, the only issue is that I am scared that if I am asked to verify my extracurriculars, I would not be able to provide valid documentation. I know that it is rare for colleges to verify extracurriculars, but it is still on my mind.
For some additional information I live in California and plan to apply to the UC’s.
Do what you want, what you’re passionate about.
Be able to describe it, etc.
I’m sure if you do something, you can find a way to validate it - perhaps there will be a link to the site.
You’re right - it’s unlikely to be checked - but make sure you do what you say you’re going to do.
PS - you may be able to join an existing club and re-direct it or get a part time job - those are great too.
Thank you for your reply,
If I were to do a part time job for example would a verification letter be best if they do ask for verification?
No one is asking for verification but if they did, you’d want to know that you could show.
If you had a job and were asked, you’d simply provide your W2, etc.
You’re way overthinking - relax, get involved, and you’ll be fine.
Okay, thank you!
I really appreciate how quick you reply to me.
