So, I’m currently a sophomore in a distance learning school. The public schools in my area suck. But, I can’t join any clubs or take part in any contests. However, I volunteer in my community, and have several interests and passions. I will be attending public school next year (we are moving), and plan to join many clubs and extracurriculars. Will colleges hold my lack of extracurriculars in 9th and 10th grade against me?
You can talk about the Volunteering in 9th/10th grade. Are your interests/passions in an organized group? Like are you in youth orchestra in your town? Or have you competed in an art exhibition?
Also your GC can mention that you were in a distance learning school. 9th and 10th grades to give context.
