Do williams students get a Facebook too? I sent my picture in a while ago and still haven’t gotten any information.

I think all freshmen get one.

Speaking of facebooks, I’m dying to get onto thefacebook [dot] com. Does anyone know when we get e-mail addresses?

Crap!! I Forgot To Send Mine In!!!

DD got her email address today - allowed her to look up her class schedule as well. It also showed a school address at Fayerweather. Is that where she will live or is that just where the mail boxes are? No other word on housing yet.

Freshman students and families get a facebook. Do send a photo, otherwise they’ll list your info with a cartoon cow drawing.

Who-hoo! We can access the facebook finally, but the class of 09 isn’t on it yet.

I also had Fayerweather listed as my address. But I enrolled in the First-year Residential Seminar, and I appear to be enrolled in that and the JA’s for FRS are not in Fayerweather. Therefore, I think Fayerweather must just be where all the mail comes in…

Mine says East and it has a room number. Some of my friends that are already at willy said that for them, that adress is their adress for next year. So I guess that Fayer is where you’ll be staying.

My son’s address is Williams, so I think this is truly the dorm address. Does anyone know about the health insurance that the school provides for a fee? Does everyone use it? Or is it possible that our own health insurance will be sufficient? I realize I’ll have to investigate with my own insurance company but was just wondering, for those of you who are current students/parents.
Wow, my first post after years(?) of lurking!

Hi Librarymom, welcome.
Massachusettes requires health insurance for all college students, so Williams ensures compliance by automatically enrolling (and billing) all students UNLESS the student provides evidence of another insurance plan and signs a waiver. By coincidence, this info just arrived in the mail yesterday
The deadline to submit the Online waiver/enrollment form is August 12

The plan cost $720, so if he’s covered by your policy you can save some money. Our insurance has been fine for the last 2 years.

Thanks for the info, driver. Your posts as the parent of a current student have been valuable and reassuring to me these past months. Thanks to you and momrath, too.

How do you find your address?

It’s in the peoplesoft part of the website - you should have received logon info in the mail recently.

Umm…my room number is 101 B. Does that mean that I’m going to live in the basement?

Oedipus, the “B” in the address probably refers to your entry. As in, you might live in Williams B 101, a room on the first floor of the Willy B entry (substitute whatever building is appropriate, but with B I think it has to be frosh quad).

Shucks, looks like I didn’t get into the First-year Residential Seminar. Gosh, I have bad luck with draws at Williams! (My name was not drawn for the summer minority program either.) But, I am still super excited for Williams, come fall. Looks like I’ll be in Fayerweather. Anyone know anything about the dorm?

i have no idea where i’m staying yet. Hmmm. I think i’ll go check now. Oh and I got my pic in. No cow face for me.

Let me know if you’re in Fayerweather, too, COols. Also, didn’t you apply for the First-year Residential Seminar?

Actually, I didn’t apply for that seminar.

Oh…whoops! I can’t remember who on here said they did. Maybe it was someone from the Williams Blackboard.

Maybe… does anyone still use that blackboard?
