Facebook

Nah. It died down pretty much. I can’t wait to find out my roommate. By the way, if anyone wants to know if they received a single or a double, here’s how to find out.

Find your address through People Soft and note your room number and building. Then go to the Facebook and search according to building and dorm. If two people pop up, you probably have a double, if one well then obviously it’s a single.

Hey leonesa…I’m not able to access facebook. What login id did you use? The peoplesoft one?

Gandalf, did you receive info about technology from the Office of the Register? Can you access people soft? I’m a bit confused as to how much info you have… But, I’ll try to help.

I believe that the id for facebook and other William Students Online things is the year plus initials. So Jerry Lee Cambell of the class of 2009 would have the id 09jlc. (Notice the initials are not capitalized.)

What I can’t remember is exactly how I ended up with the password I have. You have to have a temporary password with a bunch of this stuff and then change it. Can you access you williams email at webmail.williams.edu? If so, make sure you change your password and then try that password maybe on facebook.

Hope I sort of helped! I was confused when I did it because I didn’t exactly go about things in the right order and I tryed to rush through the process!

My D (she doesn’t post here) is in Fayerweather as well - on the 1st floor. Which floor are you on? You asked what the dorm was like. D stayed overnight at East, which is right next door and seems like a twin to Fayerweather. She says the rooms in East were really nice. It was almost like staying in a good hotel - well not quite - bathrooms were down the hall. Anyway, she really liked it and is assuming that Fay is the same. Hope she’s right.

Faye and East were built together, and are almost identical.

I’m on the 3rd floor, Clayleas. Do you know if every two or so double rooms share a common room or not? I stayed in Williams and for every two rooms there was a nice common room. It was pretty sweet.

Goodness, I’m getting psyched for the end of August! :)

When I first recieved my email address I emailed the person who had my room last. He told me that he didn’t know if the room was going to a double or single b/c it changes year after year. Thus, the best way to find out if you have a double or single is to wait until Williams tells you.

As D remembers it, there is one common room in the middle of the floor, shared by the whole entry. BTW, I should have mentioned it before, she’ll be on the 1st floor.

Me got Morgan 32E (the one with 4 JAs)!! Yayyy! I can’t access Facebook for some unknown reason, so no idea if it’s a single or a double. Can anyone tell me how Morgan’s like? :-)

Have you rising first-years discovered this page on the Williams web site? Click on First-year students, then “houses”, and you will be able to read the history of your dorm, see a picture, locate it on the map, and even see a floor plan. There’s also a very useful section on what to bring–and what not to bring.

<a href=“Williams College”>Williams College;

BTW, my daughter spent her first year in Faye, and loved it. It’s a very convenient location.

Very cool! Now I know exactly which building is Morgan… … and I like it!

And here are your JAs (including Sonrath)
http://www.williams.edu/dean/jas.html</a></p>

Congrats to Sonrath! It’s a big responsibility, and I heard the competition was very tough this year.

I don’t think we can access the floor plan.

I think I must be doing something wrong, but I don’t even have the option to log into facebook, when I click on the facebook icon on the WSO page, it takes me to a blank page with only a little tiny “log in” in the corner, but no place to enter log in info. If I click on the “log in” it just refreshes the page. I have access to both people soft and my e-mail account. Any advice?

You know, I think your problem is likely related to the specific computer you are using. When I use my laptop, I can access everything fine. But when I use our home computer, I have the same problem you are describing. I’m not sure if it is some setting issue or what. Try another computer and you’ll probably be able to access it.

fluffloooz, you can tell which rooms are singles and which are doubles by the new mailing. I just received a package today from Williams that lists everyone in my entry (Williams F, for the record) and which room they will live in, and so, if there are two people listed for a room, I assume that those rooms are doubles.

And if you do not get that mailing… well you’ll find out in four weeks anyways :-P

Just got Willy stuff int eh mail! I have a single on the 4th floor of Morgan East. I found last year’s occupant and talked to her… she said it was large and had 2 windows because it was in the corner of the building. SWEET.

joshjmgs – i’ll probably recieve that mail like the day before i fly out, being in thailand and all. :stuck_out_tongue: but i emailed last year’s occupant and voila! me gots a large single on 3rd floor morgan east! COols875, MO’EAST PRIDE! ;-)

Oh no! I still haven’t received that mailing and I’m leaving India in 4 days time…

And leonesa…thanks.
