Fachex Benefits

Hi there.

As I have been scrolling, I see there are a number of threads that mix the TE benefit with information about Fachex (the Jesuit college tuition exchange benefit). I have found that the information given out, at least at my institution, about Fachex is murky at best and I think having a dedicated Fachex thread (without TE info) would help clarify things. For example, we hear that there is a chance to match (e.g. exchange with a student from another institution) but also hear that it’s totally random and some schools are generous and others are not. I would love some experiential insight if there is any out there.

Thanks in advance!

Sadly, it will remain murky. My experience is that FACHEX awards are often times given preference to high gpa/test score kids. I had lower gpa kids (3.4) but one with a high test score, the other test optional.

They were accepted to my home institution and offered FACHEX there. They were accepted to others including LoyNO, Saint Josephs, University of Scranton, Xavier, and Creighton but did not receive FACHEX or TE at any of those.

My college junior chose Syracu se (got TE which is partial and an extra scholarship). My college freshman who got 5 TE offers (Wayne State, Lindenwood, Mercyhurst, U of Indy, Marquette) ultimately chose a non TE school of which we are only paying 8k for her freshman year (Central Michigan).
