Outrageous. If it’s in the same state and the state is allocating dollars per head, then the school district isn’t really out the money they are claiming. And if she’s homeless - what law says her “district” is the last one she claimed? If that’s so, do we start kicking out any person who moves to a new area but is jobless? Do we kick out people in a shelter for being the “wrong type?”

Education should never have gotten this far. If I were in the same position - I’d do it too. Families have been doing this for years (and it’s well known in those districts) and don’t get caught - or if so - leave quietly. It’s usually the poor people with no resources they shove into the system like this.

She’s my hero. Makes me want to go hug the Adcoms that take our kids away from public school madness like this.

Idiots like this give education a bad name. I see this too often. Clearly there is a problem, as in many areas of parents sending kids to out of district schools and they were trying to make an example out of someone. What a jerk.
