Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

Accepted into CNS math major!

So, to anyone who has been accepted, have any of you received a housing contract for this fall? And I’m guessing that housing contracts are not guaranteed, so how many people would you guys say do not get one.

@lilkukiri123 It’s been nearly a month now and still waiting for mine…

wow that’s a long time… that really sucks. I really need one.

Transcript was supposedly sent out on the 19th…but still not recieved by UT. Hate waiting because of something that is out of my hands…probably gonna have to appeal

I’m also still waiting for a decision :confused: this thread made my hopes 50/50 lol
My GPA is certainly lower than those that were accepted so far… oh well
fingers crossed
I’ll let you guys know if I get in or not.

@Keired‌
What is your GPA and major applied to?
I’m on the same boat as you…

We are in this together! I have a 3.4 for cola so it could go either way for me too

@DanielKim3‌
my GPA is 3.09

I’ve been in review since the very beginning (beginning of March). Not sure if that is good or bad…

The longer you are in review just means that you are still in a pool of applicants. They can deny you at anytime, so it is a good thing that you are being considered as competitive. Those already accepted were probably higher GPAs or had really strong qualities that admissions was looking for.

I was wondering, for anyone who has been accepted into ut and has tried doing the “request major change.” do u endanger ur acceptance at any point? am i suppose to leave the major that i was already accepted into as my second choice? kinda confused on how it works, was wondering if anyone knows.

i was wanting to request a major change into CNS from COLA as ut has finally received my spring transcript on may 29, which had a lot of my core classes pertaining to my major of choice (physics 2. chemistry 1, biology 2, and various labs).

@DeeGeeErbear‌ Yeah that’s kinda what I’ve heard. I applied to nursing so I know it’s more competitive than most majors

Admitted to COLA English! 3.64 GPA, 3 letters of rec, good essays.

Just out of curiosity does anyone know if UT accepts people on the weekends?

@pewpew13‌ Yeah they do. I know one that has been accepted on a Sunday…

Hi,
I am a student at UT-Arlington.
I was a CAP student, but I messed around too much my first semester forgoing the opportunity. My first semester GPA was low 2’s, but I worked harder the second semester. Got a 3.6 for the second semester. By the end of next year, I am expecting a GPA around 3.4-3.6.
I am double majoring in Economics and Philosophy and minoring in Korean. Applying for Liberal Arts School at UT.
Currently I have done 60 credit, including the credits I have received through dual credit.
The courses are,
Calculus 1&2
Biology 8 CR
Macroecon
Government 3 CR
English 1301
Philosophy 2300
History 1311&1312
Stats 6 CR
Korean 11 CR
My HS GPA was 3.6
SAT was 2050
Had numerous involvements in extracurricular activities including football, math clubs.
Also, I will be getting my certificate in translation and localization in Korean, and I would be done with my minor for Korean by the time of transfer.

Still Waiting…
I’m going to family orientation this week for my sister though! I hope I see anyone here that was accepted! :smiley:

Hello, new here but have been reading the threads.

“In review” two weeks today and very nervous.

Transferring from UTSA (not in the CAP program)
30 transferable hours, no math
3.66 GPA (transcript shows ascending trend, went from 3.4 first semester to 3.93 second semester)
First Choice RTF
Second COLA undeclared
One LOR from an instructor in the UT RTF program
Two decent essays
Extra curriculars covered part time jobs, sports, choir and theater
Have had two RTF-related internships including current summer internship in NYC

Commuted from UTSA to UT Austin every week this spring to complete a screenwriting workshop that was offered through the RTF Department – this is how I secured the letter of rec from the instructor

Will be happy to be accepted in any way, shape or fashion but of course RTF is my hope.
Comments? Thank you.

@lizell123‌ I think you’ll be fine!
