Fall 2014 Transfer Thread

@rangers32 yes, transfer as well. I emailed them again after he told me and I got the same generic message as before:

“Our records show that you have an active application and you are waiting for a contract offer. We are currently offering contracts in application date order beginning with students who applied as early as August 1st of last year. Because you applied on 5/9, it may be several more weeks before we reach you with a contract offer. Please continue to check your emails for updates. If you haven’t heard from us in 3-4 weeks you are welcome to contact us again for an update.”

@Golfing7861 I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. The good thing is that they didn’t run out of spots with the freshman and are now on the transfer student applications

@rangers32 agreed, I’m just hoping we get them in the month of June so we can get our preferences done in time.

:-B

OMG!!! I got ACCEPTED!!!
GPA: 3.09
Admitted to UGS
A LOT OF EC’s both HS and College
Great Essays (I think lol)
No LOR
wow lol im so happy!!
Good Luck to everyone!!

Congratulations to you and great job on those essays! Only six more days and SURELY we will all know. I hope.

Does anyone know if there’s a deadline for applicants who have been denied already, but is currently appealing to be accepted into the school in general?

@Keired‌ what school did you apply from? you give me hope for those of us with lower GPAs!

@erinbieds‌ from Panola College!!! I think my essays and my EC’s were the reason I got accepted! I was in the top 6% my HS yr. and we had financial/family issues during my first sem in college. so I ended up not passing one of my classes and making B’s on my other classes. I talked about that and I think it did the work!! lol
I’m soo happy!!

Anyone who recently got admitted to the McCombs School of Business as a transfer? Please mention your GPA if you don’t mind. I’ve got a 3.86…my application has been “in review” since January. -__-

i just received my decision and i wasn’t admitted.
going to appeal because one of my grades was messed up on my transcript, but i’m not sure why i wasn’t accepted either way…
i was accepted right out of high school, #2 in my class
3.26 gpa at Texas A&M - College Station as a Civil Engineering major
TONS of ECs in high school
prestigious leadership organization in college
society of women engineers member
2 amazing LORs
2 good essays

i put UGS as second choice but i was not even offered that…

A&m is good with engineering that gpa is low but not your fault. Just stay at a&m if civil engineering is what you want to do

Explain on the appeal why your gpa was low also.
@erinbieds‌

I got accepted to COLA Economics… but obviously got rejected from Cockrell school of engineering…

-School: University of North Texas
-GPA: 3.9
-One LOR from my calculus professor
-Not strong EC
(100 hrs volunteer at church, bands in high school)
-2 essays ( both less than one page )

Is internal transfer also hard as external transfer?

My appeal application has been approved today and I have just been admitted into the University of Texas at Austin in the College of Liberal Arts as an Economics Major!

When I first got denied my transfer GPA was a 3.42, I appealed with new information pertaining to my most recent transcript that boosted my GPA up to a 3.50. My original application was great in my opinion with 2 LORS, 2 Great Essays, Great EC Activites and involvement. If you want to see why I appealed

I just want to thank everyone that helped giving me via advice, encourgement, hope, etc. through this vigiorous and stressing process. For those of you still in review don’t give up hope! For those that have been denied and are in the appeals process right now, don’t give up hope! If you truly want to attend UT Austin, you will find a way.

Special Thanks to @DeeGeeErbear for all the help! I look forward to meeting you in the Greek Community, as I am 100% likely to reaffiliate.

Thanks Yall and Hook Em’!

@DanielKim3‌ how long did it take for you to receive you appeal decision after it went under review?

Congrats to all the people that have been admitted! Go load up on some burnt orange attire.

I got rejected from McCombs but got accepted into Economics
Here are my stats.

I am currently attending a Community College
My GPA so far is a 4.0
I currently have 35 credit hours
For work/job experience- I currently have an internship at an oil company
I received two recommendation letters.
I was in a lot of extracurricular activities back in high school
So far I have 200+ volunteer hours
My first choice Major: McCombs business school
My second choice Major: Economics

I want to make an appeal so that my application can be reconsidered for the McCombs Business School. I am extremely surprised at the fact that I got rejected even with a 4.0.
If someone could explain to me the appeal process for admitted students I would really appreciate it.

Also good luck to the rest of you guys who are still in review.

@Mnaseem‌ I’m not sure if you can appeal if you’ve been admitted. I think you would have to do an internal transfer after one semester, but @DeeGeeErbear‌ would know the answer to that. Even if you can appeal, I’m not sure it would do much good unless you have new information to add or if there was a mistake made in your application somewhere.

@ElectricFlux‌ ask her for advice since her transfer appeal was accepted
@DanielKim3‌ her appeal was accepted. Congrats. See I tell everyone appeal you never know. Congrats see you on the 40 acres. Don’t let anyone discourage you from appealing you have nothing to loseeeeeee

@Mnaseem‌
The only appeal you can do is a major change request which is considered an appeal. If you want them to rebook at your other app all over again you have a high chance of being rejected, because they might feel your acceptance was not good enough for you. Just internal transfer
