Wow, guys. This wait really sucks.

Seriously :/

Does anyone know if the 1st orientation is full for any/all colleges? I won’t be able to go to the July 10-11th orientation and might not be able to make the July 14-15th orientation… And I really don’t wanna be stuck going to the late August orientation! :(

The first orientation already passed… they’re actually about to be on the third if I’m not mistaken, but yes they’re mostly all full…

@123456B @saborak the first orientation for FRESHMAN has already passed. for transfers the first orientation is June 26-27 and it is not yet full.

Yeah, I’m talking about transfer. I don’t care about Freshman orientation, hahaha. Thank you @txgirl9457‌ !

Oh sorry :p

Accepted today to Exercise Science in COE! :)

@Ajdertate‌ hey where did you transfer from? Im currently a sophomore at ut austin and i got a 3.0 gpa my first year. i want to transfer in but im not sure if ill get in.

Wow just got this from housing:

"Greetings from the UT Austin Housing Team -

We are updating our wait list and would like to know if you are still interested in on-campus housing. If you are still interested in on-campus housing, please respond to this email by 8 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18. If you do not respond, your application will be automatically canceled.

We are currently offering supplemental contracts in application date order, with priority to first-time freshmen. We will continue to offer contracts throughout the summer."

Still in review. It’s been 3.5 weeks. I called the local admissions center to ask if they knew of an absolute date by which all decisions would be made. The woman I spoke with asked me how many hours I have total (30) and then asked for my ID so she could check my My Status page. I’m guessing that she was looking at my number of transferable hours, my chosen major and for all I know, my GPA and essays, because there was a long pause (she said the computer was slow because she had a lot of windows open) and then she told me I would “probably hear on June 16.” Now I am freaking out that the long pause had to do with her thinking, “Whoa, doesn’t look good…” Does “probably” mean this could drag on longer than June 16?? The wait is torture. @-)

I just got the email from housing too. I don’t think that is fair at all. I understand freshman are a bigger group, but for them to get full priority is ridiculous. Transfer students are not a small group and they should at least leave a number of spots reserved for transfers only because I know I am not the only one who did not think twice about another option. I know of a transfer student that got his contract two days ago and he applied for housing in October. I don’t know whether to reply and say that I am still interested because it is really frustrating.

I got an email from housing stating:

"Greetings,

The Division of Housing of and Food Service would like to offer you an opportunity to live on campus for the Fall 2014/Spring 2015 long session. Please note that this contract offer will expire Monday, June 16 at midnight.

You can retrieve your permanent contract offer by going to <a href=“UHD Homepage | University Housing and Dining”>www.utexas.edu/student/housing and clicking on the My Housing link.

We look forward to your arrival in August!"

I applied for housing a loooooong time ago though… But I’m not accepting my contract, as I would prefer to live off campus alone. For anyone who needs an option other than on campus housing, I would look into off campus apartments/studios/etc. There are still a good amount available for pre-lease at decent prices!

The Dobie Side Suits is almost the same price as Jester and it looks much nicer, I think I’ll be going with that.

Has anyone looked into the Longhorn Fixed Tuition thing? Or is anyone signing up for it?

I am basically our tuition stays the same for 4 years

hey I got in to UT a couple days ago, and just cleared my medical and TSI bars but it seems I still can’t register for classes until I go to orientation which blows…the only orientation available is the July 14-15 one which is like a month from now…Im scared all the classes will be full by then :-S

@yodiggity‌ I think you have to go to orientation in order to have the bar removed and register for classes. If you don’t go to orientation you can’t register until sometime in august.
