kicker: I got into USC straight out of high school, went there for a semester and chose to go on a leave of absence to over-binge on classes this year because I just want to go to UCLA/Cal so badly!
Took 6 classes in Fall, 2 winter, now 6 in spring!

Extracurriculars/Job experience: 10/10 on extracurric’s & worked in retail the past two years on the side/did some pro-bono consulting.
Volunteer work: 10/10

Congrats to everyone!! Still not sure whether I would go to Haas if accepted but best of luck to everyone for April 24th decisions!!

Does anyone know when admission packages come in mail

So I just reported my changes to my current classes and it says they’ll respond within 15 working days. Really? 15 working days? UGH. I’m not so worried since the class I dropped isn’t important. 1. It’s not a prerequisite, it was basically just an elective psychology class I was taking 2. I’m already at 70 semester units, which is 10 over the minimum. This class would have put me at 73 and I wouldn’t have even received credit for it. But it’s still nerve-wracking to have to wait 15 days for them to respond. Anybody in past years know if it really takes 15 days to hear back from them?

^^^Last year it took them 1 week to respond to me. I sent my inquiry on Monday following decisions and they responded the next Monday. The later it got in the semester, the longer responses seemed to take.

@2016Candles I shouldn’t be worried though right given my two points?

^^^I can’t imagine it would be an issue. If its not for IGETC, prereqs, or units, it really shouldn’t matter.

@Bearly Same here! Good luck on your app! It’s coming :-ss

@2016Candles yeah, my IGETC was fulfilled last semester along with my pre-reqs and total of 60 units. I didn’t even have to take classes this semester but decided just to do it so I can at least reach the 70 max

Does anyone know when they are announcing the regents scholarship? It was suppose to be today but I haven’t heard of anyone getting it.

UCordie- I heard from the UCLA scholarship officer today that Regents invitations will be sent out sometime this week.

I know I’m not getting one, but do they send an email?

man I just read transfer students are almost certain to be assigned a triple. I feel like calling it one year of “guaranteed single student housing” is misleading because it makes it seem you will get… you know… a single.

I really want to live on campus but I’m 26, I’ve been working since I was 16 and been on my own for quite a while. I like my privacy, and living in a room with two other people, even quiet ones, sounds miserable. This is making me really sad.

Yes, you will get an email invitation. Historically, only 4.0 students have got Regents invitations. Hope this year is different.

Has anyone received the regents invitation?

@UniversalSnip Not really but that beats paying 1,800 for an apartment in 25 miles from brentwood

Accepted
GPA: Boise State: 3.57/CA CC: 4.0.
UC Transferable: somewhere between 3.6 and 3.72? maybe?
Major GPA: Something like 3.8 but there are upper division classes there, and some that were lower at my other school but upper at UCLA so IDK really.
Major: Pre-Psychology
IGETC: Done
Pre-Reqs: Finishing now
Essay: Passion for psychology, /Have to work mostly full time to pay for school. Was Manager at McDonald’s.
EC: No time.
TAG: Nope
Applied: UCLA, UCSB, UCI, UCR, CSULA, CSUN
Accepted: UCSB, UCR, UCLA, CSULA, CSUN
Pending: UCI
Living off Campus (Valencia)/Commuting
Aid: Pell Grants, but because I wasn’t a resident for tuition purposes this semester, I cannot receive Cal Grants until 2016/17 ;-; School refused to send GPA verification out, so lost out on 12K there.

Been lurking but just decided to post to maybe give someone hope in the future.
Really thrilled to have gotten in, I figured it was a long shot, but miracles happen!
Just finishing third semester in College. From SGV. Family convinced me to go to Idaho and both my husband and I were miserable out there (no offense, we’re just used to a bigger city and SoCal weather.)
Had 82 credits when I left, and had to land in a CC when we got back because we couldn’t afford to pay out of state tuition at a university since we had established it out there like idiots. Then added another 27, but obviously a lot of them don’t transfer. No ECs, no volunteering, just tons of work experience, and improvement in GPA when I stopped being a manager and got a lower stress job.
Now gonna be a resident again and very happy. I only wanted to get into UCLA, honestly it was probably UCLA or just a Cal State because its the only UC I can reasonably commute to.
Congratulations everyone who got in! and good luck to those still waiting on other schools.

@HumbleTeen that is not true.

When do we choose pathway for EE major? Do we just choose whatever we like or they all have prerequisite GPA or some other restrictions?

For the housing, I’ve been looking at the university apartments and the virtual tours on the Ucla site. However all the “shared” rooms have bunk beds. I don’t mind sharing a room, but bunk beds? Does anyone know of transfer/junior housing where you share a room but have your own bed?

Does anyone know when the admission packages come in the mail???
