Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

Does anyone wanna be roommates ? Let me know please

Just so I am clear, because I know there were some concerns in regards to sending transcripts - if I already know I am going to UCLA, I only need to send up to Fall '14 transcripts to UCLA only right? Also, am I okay to submit them online with IGETC certification, through my CC’s portal or do they need a hard copy one too? Lastly, UCLA doesn’t require high school ones correct?

Thanks, and maybe @lindyk8 or @fullload can lend their knowledge on this ;:wink: I would be exceedingly grateful

Yes you’re correct re through fall but you cannot submit (those are unofficial). They need to be sent via the CCC.

I believe you can file a request online at your CCC’s website.

Thank you! That clears it up

@Outerhaven AH! I would, but I am already commuting :-<

@luckie1367 I live in the Valley but I DO NOT want to even touch or see the 405 In morning grid lock

Yeah…thats the part I’m not excited about :frowning:

Does UCLA update on Saturdays?

I’m 90% this message was not there yesterday. I would have noticed it.

“We received your recent communication regarding changes to your academic information and are currently reviewing your record. Upon completion, we will contact you to inform you of any status changes.”

So I’m wondering if they updated this today and there’s a chance i’ll hear back today or tomorrow opposed to waiting until next week.

I submitted my changes on Monday. So it took 5 days for them to upload that.

@unknown10108 My lowest GPA was a 2.41 and I had a few semesters with a 4.0. My grades really began changing when I surrounded myself with ambitious and like minded people. Thanks for the good vibes! Good luck in becoming a bruin. Im actually still undecided between electrical engineering at UCSD or physics at either UCSB/UCLA. Im leaning towards physics at UCLA though. I’ve always been a bit more of a theoretical person and UCLA has been my dream school ever since I was a kid.

This has probably already been asked, but is there a Facebook group (or any group) for transfers to find roommates?

Look up ucla transfer students on facebook

@Salmanthgr8 thats a fantastic financial aid package. Did you get this info from your provisional award letter? If you don’t mind be asking how did you get all that? Cause lord help me I only got 400 for USHIP…

@lmbc1020 I hope you find some way to help pay for school, you can’t not go now that you’ve been accepted. Where there’s a will there’s a way!

*late response

@drConfetti I have pretty much the same aid package it sounds like. I got mine by having really good grades and being really poor, I don’t know what else could have contributed to it.

4,744 university grants
5,775 pell grants
12,804 cal grants (!)
2,229 uship grant

I already have the el cheapo medi-cal. I’m curious as to what happens to that grant if I waive uship in favor of keeping that.

@UniversalSnip I believe the grant goes away, I don’t think you get to keep the money.

Also, I lol’ed at ‘El cheapo’ medi-cal. I’ve got similar and would kill for USHIP coverage. I’d keep that if I were you!

@UniversalSnip “This grant is offered to students with significant financial need to help cover the cost of University Student Health Insurance (USHIP). If you waive out of USHIP because you already have a medical insurance coverage, this grant will be canceled.”

@LuckyName thanks

I just went through the summer schedule and now debating whether to take a class or not. :((

I originally wanted a break since i’ve been nonstop for the past two years. But maybe a 4 unit class in six weeks won’t take away so much time from me? And it is one of the two pre-reqs that have to be taken at UCLA. So taking this during the summer would open so many more doors during the fall.

Any Psychology majors enrolling during the summer in Psych 100A? Or anybody who’s taken it before have a recommendation for a professor? The two listed for this summer are Ainsworth, A.T. and Trickey, K.

In the words of Winnie the Pooh… think, think, think! :((

@LuckyName maybe over session C?

Then you get a break early, but can still take the class?

@LuckyName session C might work! Like @luckie1367 said, then you still get a break. As far as recommending a prof, BruinWalk helps a lot. You can try looking up the prof there. I’m considering taking a summer class, too, but I don’t want to register before I know if I can get into TSP or not. :confused:
