@fullload anybody can take classes at UCLA in the summer. you don’t have to be admitted into the school to register.
Candles, right?!? They definitely did not articulate their meaning very well. It was written as if I had screwed up somehow.
Lucky, ah, makes more sense then. Thanks.
@fullload I have a similar deal with my spring classes, but with a slightly larger gap… not quite sure what to make of it since we were allowed to sign up for the classes
Yeah, sorta strange, luckie, but I think Candles answer makes sense. They’re going on faith because they know they’ll get their money either way.
hey @luckie1367 how long did it take for your transcripts from SMC? Can you do it online or does it need to be in person?
@Mac2000 SMC has a system to send it electronically. I ordered it on 4/19, I got a confirmation from the delivery service on 4/22 saying they had been delivered, and the MyUCLA update to the status of ‘pending’ on 4/29. So about 8 working days?
Here is my tally from a few posts back:
AP Scores: Sent 4/19, Marked 4/29
Official Transcript: (Fall) Sent 4/19, (email confirmation on 4/22), Preliminary Pending 4/29
Financial Aid: still provisional (SIR on 4/19), Summer aid confirmed 5/1
I would much rather do it electronically so thanks so much for the info. As long as it’s reliable and quick I’m so down.
Are you a SMC student @Mac2000 ?
If so, I went with option 1: http://www.smc.edu/EnrollmentDevelopment/Admissions/Pages/Transcripts.aspx
I am! Yeah I’m looking at that page and it just seems to good to be true. Why would anyone want to order in person when it’s just as fast to do it from the web. Glad I asked!
Yeah, the people at the Admissions office weren’t that friendly when I went to submit my graduation petition, so I’m with any reason not to go back there!
It costs about 8 bucks, but they also send you an email when it is electronically transferred/delivered, which was nice. I didn’t have to worry about it getting lost in USPS purgatory.
@LuckyName I received an email before the decision site updated back to the congratulations letter.
No sh*t @fullload.
That was a sobering story, lindy. It definitely got my attention so I’m covering my butt.
@direwolfin what time was this at during the day?
Also in regards to transcripts, I was at UCLA a couple of days ago and spoke to the admissions director. He said transcripts CAN be submitted in person but they must be sealed and not have been tampered with, of course.
@luckyname That’s what my daughter’s planning to do at Berkeley. :-& :-& :-&
Housing applications are due on June 1st right? How long after does it take for them to process it and give you the offer? I’m going to submit a housing application but if I don’t get a single room, then i’m not going to accept it. But i’ll have to know early cause then I have to begin my apartment hunting and moving out of my current one. So i’m hoping they don’t let us know months later.
@lindyk8 it just seems much easier.
@lindyk8 good idea.
@luckyname its very rare for a transfer to get a single room, unless there is a good reason. You might want to get some feedback from the housing office, so you don’t delay your search.
Another reason it’s great to walk it over, is because the CCCs can take two weeks or longer to get the transcripts sent out. BTW, they aren’t going to hold you to that June 1 deadline if it’s late.
