@lindyk8 I know there’s a very low chance, but still at least some chance overall. maybe i’ll finally get lucky, haha.
“You recently submitted a Provisional Problem Form on 04-20-2015 notifying us of changes in your coursework. Based on your self-reported information, your eligibility will not be affected by these changes. However, your admission will not be final until official transcripts, which include your final Spring 2015 grades have been received.”
THANK GOD!
@Mac2000 hope you hear back today too since we submitted the same day!
So it took them 9 business days as well to respond just like @direwolfin
Yay! Congrats @LuckyName !!!
Come on @Mac2000 , good news!!! [-O<
Result: Rejected (Around ~April 17th)
Major: Physics (B.S.)
Community College GPA: 3.56
UC Transferrable GPA: 3.51
IGETC: Yes
Pre-requisites: Missing Physics 17 and Physics 18L, because no course articulated at my community college according to assist.org
Other/Notes: I had an odd kind of GPA trend, unfortunately mostly downward trending with a B in my 1st phys (after withdrawing from it the previous semester), 1st chem, and 2nd calc courses; while I got a C in my 2nd phys, 3rd calc, and diff. eq… This was on top of withdrawing from 4 courses (honors bio, 2nd chem, 1st phys, and communications) during my 3rd and 4th regular semesters. However, I obtained A grades in all my other courses/pre-reqs (including Bio for science major and IGETC courses), including during a 12 unit summer session between my 4th and 5th regular semesters.
Applied: UCSB, UCB, UCLA, UCD, UCSD
Accepted: UCSB (TAG), UCD, UCSD
Rejected: UCLA, UCB
Just spent ten minutes trying to figure out how to email ucla about a couple transcripts questions. Anyone know the email they want us to use? Thanks.
@luckie1367
What @2016Candles said. Your Degree Audit Report will reflect your IGETC certification and at your orientation, you’ll be able to see it IIRC.
Thanks @Cayton !
Yesssssss @LuckyName !!! Congrats - great news to kick off the weekend!!!
Thanks @luckie1367 , it’s looking more and more like it will be next week for me… Another long weekend ahead hahaha. 1 UCLA admissions thought for every Pacquiao / Mayweather punch
@luckie1367
Oh, and heads up—the orientation is like 12 hours long. A lot of activities and information to engage with and absorb. Personally, I thought it was great, but be prepared to dedicate a lot of time to it.
Hang in there!!
Do any of you know if they have to receive the transcripts by June 1 or they need to be postmarked by June 1? I know Berkeley specifically says postmarked on the acceptance conditions but I haven’t seen anything definitive from UCLA
Ooops, the hang in there comment was for @Mac2000!
Thanks for the heads up @Cayton ! That seems like a lot, I’ll make sure I bring my walking shoes! And we bring a laptop right?
@luckie1367
A laptop that orientation is totally optional. There is a lot of walking, so if you have a heavy, or clunky laptop you may not want to bring it. But if you have a tablet or something really light, then I would. I found it very helpful to be able to look things up on my own without having to rely on computers that were being shared bylots and lots of other students.
I really used it to keep up with the classes that were open and available. At the end of the day will register for classes, but you’ll notice that classes that were closed the day before will open up the day of your registration. So having access to a computer, lets you see all of this. You can also view it on a smart phone, but I just like to have more working space than the screen on my phone.
Thanks @2016Candles !
Actually @Cayton and @2016Candles , and any other UCLA students: What are your thoughts as you finish up your first/final year? Anything you know now that you wish you knew when you were in our shoes? Did anything help/hurt your transition?
The best advice I can give is to be open. Be open to meeting new people, doing new things, and learning in different ways.
If you haven’t already, I highly recommend joining the transfer Facebook page. There are always new events happening and it’s just a really good source of information-both formally and just people sharing info.
Go visit your professors during office hours. Also visit your TAs. Professors are great for helping you understand the material. The TAs are great for helping you do well on exams. Professors typically know more than TAs, but TAs grade your exams and your papers. At the end of the day your grade is determined a lot more by your TA then your professor.
Meet with your academic advisor and your departmental advisor at least two times per academic year if not once per quarter. Make sure you are very knowledgeable about the requirements for your major, as well as the college requirements to graduate. Don’t let things sneak up on you at the end.
Quarters go fast-don’t procrastinate. I repeat do not procrastinate. Quarters do not give you enough time to make up ground if you get behind.
Thanks @2016Candles !!
Question for those who submitted changes!!!
I just checked my decision web, and it changed to following
“Dear : xxxx
We received your recent communication regarding changes to your academic information and are currently reviewing your record. Upon completion, we will contact you to inform you of any status changes.
UCLA Undergraduate Admission”
my #UCLAbound thing is gone, I’m so nervous
For those who changed schedules, you guys also have this message instead that bear with #UCLAbound?
