Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

@luckie1367 I submitted mine on 28th. It was changes of schedule, I’m taking Microbio instead Bio, and I couldn’t take one of pre-req that my school canceled.

@luckyname thanks, but one more week? god…

@wlasm15 I submitted my changes on the 20th. My decision site updated to that message on the 24th. I received a response today on the 1st.

@luckie1367
Everything @2016Candles said, basically.

Hey guys I have a question, if MyUCLA portal says “A preliminary transcript has been received from GLENDALE COMMUNITY COLLEGE . A final transcript is still required.” Does this mean they’ve received my fall transcripts? I sent them a while ago when I was sending it to my safety Cal State who wanted them early.

Also if I apply for the scholars program and they accept me, is it binding? Aren’t there certain unit counts we have to complete and grades we have to get to stay in the program? Im worried it’ll be too much for my first quarter

@Icj1994 I believe the preliminary transcript is your fall transcript, since that is what mine says. I have no idea about the honors program

^ in regards to the alumni scholars program, anybody currently in it? How competitive was it to get in? How has your experience been like?

Wait, are we talking about the Alumni Scholars scholarship, or the UCLA honors colloquium?

@wlasm15 I submitted my change last sunday and my decision page changed to that too. My stomach dropped

Im talking about the honors program @luckie1367

the honors program isn’t called the scholars program @Icj1994 :stuck_out_tongue:

I just submitted my Alumni Scholars application with 2.5 hours to go! I made it, haha! =D>

Does anybody know when they release information regarding the decisions? The confirmation didn’t state anything specific and I just got a “Check back to this page periodically for updates on the status of your application.” But is there an actual specific date somewhere? Or those who have won in the past, when did you guys find out? What came after the application submission?

guys i have a question! you know when you submitted your application? when you submitted it at november, was your gpa like 3.5? Because if so, what if at that term at december you received the fall semester final grades and then your gpa shot up to maybe 3.7? Will colleges see that as well? basically im asking if colleges will see what you’re doing up to before acceptance letters came out? thank you for answering my questions again! like what if during my first year at community college, my gpa was a 3.3 THEN during this summer and next fall, my gpa shot up! how’s my chances of getting in?

oops! i meant honors haha

Got a packet from UCLA today. Gorgeous. It’s like a softbound coffee table book. Some of the pages are translucent. Also got something from berkeley… it was a plain white piece of paper in an envelope congratulating me and informing me that I could get a cheap deal on summer classes. I want to go to UCLA so badly but I’m in the running for a hefty cal scholarship. It made me sad to look at those packages and think that for financial reasons I might reject UCLA for my literal bottom pick out of the 9 colleges I applied to.

So back to the email address conversation. I’m finally submitting my SIR. I’m at the step where it asks for our official email. There’s two options. The one I entered when I submitted my application, my hotmail account. And then there’s an option for other. Do I click on other and enter a UCLA email address? Or is that generated AFTER I submit the SIR, which means I should use the former hotmail account?

.

@LuckyName
You choose your own UCLA email address-there’s nothing automatically generated. At anytime after you sir, you’re able to change your permanent email address. You can change it as often as you like. So once you have your UCLA email set up, then you can change it to be your permanent UCLA address.

Okay so we choose our UCLA email after we SIR right! It’s not the option where it says “other?”
