Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

Is it weird that I still haven’t received my final Financial Aid reward offer. I still only have my provisional offer available. Is anyone else still waiting for their final offer still?

@Billiejr Are you looking in the right place? Its not in the same place as the PAL

Go to MyUCLA -> Finances and Jobs -> Awards and Notices

Make sure you’re looking at ‘Academic Year’

@luckie1367 yeah! I’ve checked there and only my provisional offer is up. It says my documents are conplete but still pending review. I’m not really sure why it’s taking so long for them to finalize everything. My FAFSA was completed long before the due date and I SIRed the day I was accepted…

@Billiejr were you admitted off the waitlist? That might have something to do with it

Or, the financial aid office is missing documentation, you can check that under the financial aid tab on myUCLA

Hmmm…I’d call then, and ask.

Financial Wellness took about 45 min

I recently got a scholarship. I know you’re supposed to report it to the financial aid office, but if I do are they going to change my pal? Or will it affect my future financial offers from Ucla?

Congrats @award344 !

Yes, you do have to report it. I believe they may reduce any institutional aid or loans/work-study, but it shouldn’t have an affect on future offers.

How it affects your financial aid depends on your package. Usually, it eliminates loans first, which is only a benefit to you. But again, it’s determined on your unique package.

I can’t find the Alcohol Edu. I looked on my.ucla.edu. Help please lol

@History2Law http://www.alcoholedu.ucla.edu/ Go to ‘Overview and Instructions’

@luckie1367 Thank you. About to start it right now.

Does it make a difference that I got it from a private foundation and not through Ucla? @lindyk8 @luckie1367

No, I don’t think so…

What kind of aid do you currently have? They work their way up via loans, WS, then I think UC aid will get eliminated. Basically, the way I see it you won’t be any worse than you were before you got the outside scholarship, and if it saves you on loans that’s only good.

We don’t have to do the financial wellness course unless we’re taking out loans right?

Finally done. Alcohol Edu took about an hour and 20 minutes.

@luckie1367 I called the Financial Aid office and the guy that answered (who sounded as if he had just woken up from a nap) told me that it’ll probably be updated in the next few days but everything seems fine with my file.

@UCLA17 No, I wasn’t admitted off the waitlist and they weren’t missing any documents.

@UCLA17 the email I got last week said both are required.
