Thanks @luckie1367! Apparently I didn’t get any aid. I thought the max was $150,000 and my parents make less than that
Hey @luckie1367 I was wondering what your alcohol and edu and transit courses look like when they’re finished and how i know if I’ve done it all. Both say they are in “intersession” and that i passed the exams on both. Is there only a part 2 to alcohol and edu and NOT transit? Thanks
@edwardcruz319 did you submit your FAFSA before March 2? Did you get any other types of aid?
@Icj1994, no its just those until part 2 opens in ~3 weeks. It may take a day to show it marked as complete.
@luckie1367 I think I didn’t get it because of my aid. I read that you can’t receive aid for 40% of fees or something like that for the middle class scholarship. Do you know if the fees that they are referring to are tuition only or is housing included as well?
I’m not sure, but I know that if you get it reduced if you have other types of aid/scholarships.
I’m pretty disappointed in the classes I ended up getting at orientation, and I’m even more disappointed now knowing that the classes they recommended I take were not the classes I was limited to. They did not explain it well and made you feel as if you needed to pick a course from this very restricted set of classes. After orientation, I looked around and saw a lot more classes I’d be interested in and could have enrolled in had I known. I plan on swapping one or two I have now on September 15th, but I’m guessing at that point the classes that I want (there’s only one spot available, and the new students only restriction will be lifted) will be taken up.
MyUCLA says that my “second pass” is on the 15th at 12:30PM. Is that the same time for everyone?
No, mine is the 15th at 6:30
@luckie1367 AM or PM? Do you have any idea if new students typically get an earlier appt time?
PM
Most current students have already had their first and second pass. Sep 15 is when it reopens for everyone.
I know for assigning first pass times it is by year, and I think # of units
@22jumpstreet My NSA told me that we could email her and change the classes if we wanted to.
does anyone else have problems loading myUCLA with the new format? both my safari and firefox on my new macbook have the slowest time loading them, while my old computer had no problem… hmm
Its actually the opposite for me @Icj1994, it loads faster for me now (google chrome)
@lcj1994 like @luckie1367 said, mine is faster. But I’m still having trouble with the housing portal, it’s always so slow. I use Safari on my Macbook.
Ugh lucky @luckie1367 and @UCLA17 i just got a new macbook DAYS ago and it doesn’t let me fully sign in. I even try on firefox and chrome and the same thing happens. Meanwhile on my old macbook I’m having no problems. Theres really no rhyme or reason as to why i should be having this problem but i am :((
Maybe its a defective macbook?
Anybody going to the game on Saturday?
Be sure the Mac is up to date. If certificates are not installed you will not be able to log in. Can you log into other secure sites like your bank?
You might have done the impossible and gotten a virus on a Mac hahaha
Hey guys I got a TV for my dorm, and decided to go with a 32 inch. Does anyone think that’ll be too big for a deluxe double? I didn’t think it would be too large, but I can be a poor judge of size.
Depends, are you going to share it with your roommate?
JK, I have no idea how big at 32 inch TV is…maybe wait and see? Is it something you can easily go back and get?
I may be sharing it, but he said he doesn’t use a TV much. I’m going to email him about it. I can go back and exchange it if it’s the wrong size–I got it from Costco so it has a 90-day return policy. I think it’ll be a decent size, I just don’t want it to wind up slightly too big.
