Found out both of my other roommates are freshmen…is anyone else in this situation? Not that that’s super bad but I was hoping I’d get put with upperclassmen at least (living in plaza triple). Maybe I just got unlucky? I’m gonna feel so out of place X_X
Probably not; I remember them continuing to offer the den pass late in to the fall quarter last year. They may be doing that this year. You should look into that, @award344.

@fncrane that’s weird did you ask to be moved? or did it have to do with the whole not having roommates (or not seeing them) in the beginning…either way sad to see you leave Acacia!
@UCLA17 yeahh I was looking forward to having upperclassmen roommates but I guess the risk of doing plaza over a transfer-themed dorm is that anyone can apply for that housing (which still surprised me, most of my other friends/classmates who are transfers and in plazas have upperclass roommates too). i wonder if there’s a way to switch…but I think you need a second party to agree too. hmm
@Bearly I think it had to do with the weird empty room scenario, it was all a big mess. And hopefully we’ll still get to meet through classes and such!!
Can someone please explain something for me? I’m confused lol. So my advisor told me that 3 major classes would be too much my first quarter, so I should pick 2 major classes and 1 other upper division class. This is what I don’t get. Obviously, the other upper division class would be just as hard or maybe even harder because it is not a subject that I might be as interested in as my major classes? Am I missing something? :l
@manda001 I think the same exact thing! I asked my departmental advisor and she was like, uh…
So I honestly think that the biggest thing is that they don’t always have enough classes for each major, so they make you pick a different class for your third pick. The only other thing I could think of was that maybe different majors have different requirements, so some majors might be more project based while others require more reading and writing while others are mostly tests. But I feel like there is probably a variety with most majors…
Maybe also because you could take a non-major class pass/no pass?
@onmyway8 hmm yes, I also suspected the thing about not having enough classes for each major! Otherwise, it doesn’t really make sense because I think I would be better in a comm class than a random history class about the Netherlands because I have zero interest in that lol. Oh well, I’m picking my classes tomorrow so I’m kind of freaking out about what upper elective to take because I really can’t find anything that interests me . Argh, so frustrating!
