Hey. so I had a weird thing happen. My Cal Grant B vanished from my anticipated financial aid totals on the BruinBill thing. I checked around and it said I rejected the grant? I had accepted it before. The only thing I can think of is that I did get around to sending in required financial aid documents late. I sent them late July.
How strict are they about the fridge size? It seems all the fridges over 3.0 cu ft in capacity are just over 6 cu ft in total volume.
@Manda001
In my experience, it’s not that 3 major classes is too hard, but it’s just a LOT of similar info. I got burned out my 1st quarter taking 4 major classes. My brain really wanted different subject matter.
But on the flip side, all the repitition really helped me absorb the subject matter, and grade-wise, it was my best quarter at UCLA.
hey guys!
With my housing situation, I originally got placed with one freshman and one upperclassman in a deluxe triple. Then, later on that week the freshman got transferred out to another building and now ucla housing says one spot empty.
Do you think it will end up just being two of us to the room? And if so, we will still have the arrangement as a triple?
@Ellie64 there’s a waitlist for housing, you’ll probably end up getting another roommate. Or it might fill up after the transfer housing swap event
SMC just made me laugh so hard.
I got this solid looking-envelope marked ‘SMC Graduation Department’. I thought ‘ooh! my diploma is here’.
I open it, and pull out this beautiful, fancy certificate.
It reads “Certificate of Completion for IGETC” :))
I didn’t know we got a diploma/certificate for IGETC =))
@22jumpstreet no more than 6 cu ft for a fridge. http://parents.ucla.edu/about-us/bruinlink/move-in-weekend
@luckie1367 that’s more than my daughter got! She got nothing!
@luckie1367
I knew that when it was sent to me it was an IGETC certificate and not an AA because I didn’t fill out the paperwork for one(SMC requires the completion of a “global citizenship” class or something like that and I never did it, hence being ineligible for getting an AA). I still felt pretty proud to have accomplished something at SMC with completing IGETC, though.
Although I have to admit that I feel strange for transferring without obtaining an AA degree; every transfer I’ve talked to about this said they got one or more AA degrees. I technically still have only a high school diploma.
I guess it won’t matter after next year, though.
Hey guys when does part 2 of alcohol and edu open?? And the finance one doesn’t have 2 parts right? Also is disbursement of loans monday?
@Cayton, yeah, I think your BA tumps any AA. That being said, I do have an AA
@Icj1994 i think its late September/early October. Loans get disbursed to UCLA on Monday, but any surplus might not get sent back right away. I’ve heard it can take 2-3 days to direct deposit.
@Cayton, I learned that it is possible to transfer back any UC credits to your CC to meet the requirements of the Associates’ degree. Perhaps something you have taken at UCLA, fulfills the Global Citizenship requirement.

Dumb question… but is there toilet paper included in the plaza bathrooms? Lol. I just want to know if I should purchase some or not.
@UCLA17 not a dumb question at all!!! I had to find that out too! From what I gathered, they provide toilet paper and come in to clean once a week, but you have to bring your own hand towels and hand soap and things like that.
Under my Financial Aid Notices and Notifications under Status, it says “Submitted”, does anyone else have that?
@fncrane that’s awesome! Thank you.
@UCLA17 yes, mine says that too. It changed from ‘view’ to ‘submitted’ after I had accepted/rejected all my stuff.
So I want to exchange for a class that has seven seats left … I hope it’s still open by my second pass.
We have to pay tomorrow for renters insurance if we want coverage, so how many of us are paying the $180 plus fee and how many are going to opt-out?
