Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

Okay, good. Thanks @Cayton

@Icj1994 no clue, hopefully soon!

My Sub and Unsub loans as well as my partial UCSHIP grant posted today though!

I’m looking to replace my Geology 140 (Political Geography) class with Anthropology 135T (Psychoanalysis and Anthro), in that case I would be taking all my classes on Monday and Wednesday, with a discussion on Tuesday.

Has anyone heard anything good/bad about any of these courses? Also, is it a good idea to take all my classes on M/W?
Any help would be great! Thank you.

Go to bruinwalk and check the course/prof reviews. You can also check through rate my professor. A lot of UCLA courses are up there. Ninja courses also reviews if UCLA is part of that.

Quick question about the university apartments. Can I choose which room I want if I’m the first one to get there? I think the rooms are assigned-- for instance I got room 100A. But does that actually matter? Is it still a first come, first served basis? Thanks!

@iwantcoffee I think you should stick to your assigned room

That would be called ‘squatting’. Some people think it’s acceptable. However, the resident of the room will certainly be flabbergasted that someone is living in her room.

Thanks for all the opinions about the suitcase lol! I have to bring one, don’t really have a choice, but oh how I wish a parent or a friend could come with me and take it home after I finished unpacking. That’s what I get for moving across the world to go to school though haha :stuck_out_tongue:

I have seen many students with suitcases! As a parent, I never had a second thought about it.

@Happy2Help Haha yeah I guess I’m just overthinking this. It’s just that I saw on the move-in video how everyone had tons of stuff in their car and everyone used those carts to get everything up to the room. So I was just thinking umm… all I’m gonna have is my suitcase and probably a handbag + duffel bag and then I just started thinking how no one else would do the same and everyone would just think I’m weird! I know I sound crazy haha, I’m just getting a bit nervous about this whole thing now lol like what am I doing, moving across the world arghhhhh!!!

I moved in today because I’m an MIA (work starts tomorrow) and my hall is empty :frowning:

I want this thread to last forever.

Who here is thinking about going to grad school?

@fncrane Which hall? I’m an HGR over in Acacia/Birch, and we will be working with MIAs at several points during move-in (sort of helping RAs). It’ll be hectic, but fun!

@Platocrat Evergreen! I was supposed to be in Acacia but my assignment got switched for some reason

IM SO EXCITED TO MOVE IN

@luckie1367 what is the transit financial wellness for?

@award344 it was a part of the alcohol EDU thing. I’m not really sure if it was mandatory or not.

Moving in tomorrow. Please tell me I’m not the only one feeling super anxious. Lol

Good luck to all you transfer students!
