Mustang012- Congrats on turning your life around. I’m a mom and I just want you to know how proud I am of you!
I wouldn’t worry about not having many ECs. As long as you explained yourself, I think you will be okay. I have read that admissions reps understand that the work load in college is heavy and that being involved in many ECs can be difficult. I think your GPA shows what you have been doing with your spare time!
Best wishes to you and may your future be abundant in blessings!
@zeppelinlover thank you! And If I may add, my mom is the main reason for switching my life around. I want to make her proud.
Thank you once again and God bless.
Hi, it is so nice to have @Cayton and @lindyk8 here! I have read the thread for 2014 thoroughly. I am going to transfer this year…and I have questions while applying for the financial aid. Which one do I choose : on campus/off campus/with parents/?? it is under the question which I will fill in all the school codes. Do I have to decide right now on my financial aid application?
@springtree
You can always change your housing options later. You get the most FA for on campus, then off campus, and the least amount for w/ parents. I would recommend putting the housing that is most probable, but like I ssud, it’s not locked in.
If you plan to live with parents after transferring, put that down. If you plan to live in an off-campus apartment, indicate “off-campus” on the form. On-campus is self-explanatory.
If you change your mind or something comes up that forces you to change plans, you can amend your financial aid application afterwards.
I’ve pulled a lot of all-nighters studying recently, but I do try to find time to help people here. I’ve actually been much less active around here, unfortunately.
We appreciate you @Cayton ! Voice of reason most times
I was just looking through the old UCLA thread to get an idea of when we hear back. It seems like checking http://www.admission.ucla.edu/applicant/notify.htm is futile since it wasn’t updated until the week decisions were released.
Yeah, UCLA annoyingly doesn’t commit to a date to release decisions until early-mid April. A good idea would be to call the admissions office around that time or talk to admissions representatives and they can give you a clue, though usually even they won’t know for sure.
But usually, UCLA releases their decisions about a week before Berkeley does(Seems to be intentional, given how regularly this occurs. Could be wrong). Berkeley will release decisions on April 24th this year, so I’d expect UCLA to release decisions around April 15th-20th.
@Luckie1367, Haha, I was just joking, I knew you meant it not in a bad way.
And yeah, the 17th is a Friday. They seem to like Fridays, so that might be it.
I will say this. You think it’s bad now. It’s unbearable come end of March and beginning of April. Unbearable when UCSD rolls out two acceptances a week apart, I think around Late March, then nothing more until April 18.
Maybe you could start a housing trick thread to pass the time? Yeah, that’s the ticket!!
@81mamba, yeah, keep your grades up! I was shocked at how many people let things slide last year. I guess the weight from all the stress just does a number on people. The good news is we saw a whole lot of applicants get Cs and they almost all kept their acceptances.
BUT DON’T DO THAT! That’s a new level of stress you don’t need. :
