Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

Anybody willing to chance me? This wait is seriously going to be the death of me.

Major: Pre-Psychology
GPA: 3.91 (3.89 with Fall 2014 grades / 3.90 with Winter 2015 grades)
TAG: Yes, UCI
TAP: Certified – Gender Studies
IGETC: Completed by Winter 2015
Pre-requisites: Completed? (Stupid question, but aren’t these also the courses on the IGETC?)
EC: I listed student in the Honors Program. I also listed that I am the Vice President of one of the clubs on campus. I listed three jobs from 2007 – 2011 under my work experience. Earlier this month, I went back to my transfer academic update and added that my abstract was accepted at the HTCC Student Research Conference, which will take place at UCI this Saturday.
Essay #1 – Discussed how my mental breakdown led me to becoming a better student. I discussed the programs I joined at school, the classes I took, the research I conducted, and how it all motivated me to give my 100 percent to everything I do. This essay did not get a lot of revising.
Essay #2 – Discussed how my life changed after being diagnosed with a disease, and how even though I may die from this, it is not stopping me from fulfilling my full potential. I am proud of this essay. I had it checked multiple times by multiple professors and counselors and they all had limited feedback from how touching and good it was.
Applied: UCLA, UCI, UCSB, and CSUF
Acceptance: UCI (Regents Scholar and Honors), UCSB, and CSUF

@‌ luckyname.

You are in. Duh.

@LuckyName‌ your stats look great!

The ec’s are what have me worried. It’s not a lot. At the time of application it was just the club and honors

Hey guys, so I just rechecked my uc app and realized I accidentally wrote the wrong name of the hospital I volunteered at. I wrote “UCLA harbor hospital” instead of “harbor-ucla medical center”. Should I contact UCLA about it?

No, they won’t notice or care. If they had an issue you would have heard.

@lindyk8 I was just wondering because i wrote in my PS “Harbor-UCLA medical center” so the info conflict but i really hope they won’t be so critical about it. Thank you for your response.

Also, on my app, i put that “since i was applying for summer program, if accepted, i will not be completing IGETC by summer of 2015” but at of now, i am not doing it anymore, should i call UCLA and confirm this with them? I’m a Biochem major and i heard completion of IGETC for my major is highly recommended.

If the wait is killing you like it is, me, read this!

@hpmv13 ty LOL

@tristana well idk it made me feel better like .0005% better

@Npham95‌ I think you have a typo. So, you said you would finish IGETC in summer and now you won’t? At this late date, don’t say anything because the result could be bad and you have nothing to gain from it. If accepted, deal with it then, although you should def finish because it really puts your admission at risk. By then you may have come up with a solution.

If you are saying you wrote hospital correctly in ECs but miswrote in essay, don’t worry about it.

@lindyk8‌ Actually, in regard to the EC, I miswrote the hospital in the EC portion not the essay portion

And about the IGETC, i wrote to them in the additional comment box these exact words

“Although I did put future courses for the summer of 2015 session, I am also in the process of applying for Summer Medical and Dental Education Program. Thus, If accepted, I will be participating in the program in the summer and will not be able to complete the planned courses as well as the IGETC. If that is the case, I will manage to fulfill these general education courses in the future after i successfully transferred.”

but now I know for sure i won’t be attending the program and will definitely finish my IGETC this summer 2015. Sorry if i caused you some confusion earlier. I really appreciate your inputs on my situation.

No, you said it all. Just leave it. Same with hospital.

Gotcha. Thanks @lindyk8‌! I have been going crazy over it after reading that UCLA highly recommends completion of IGETC and it might affect me negatively if they don’t know for sure i will complete it before transferring. Thanks again.

Well, maybe I misunderstood you. If you’re telling them you ARE finishing it, let them know.

Ok! i’m planning on calling them tomorrow to confirm that i will definitely finish my IGETC. Really sorry about all the misinformation.

OK, wow, we were talking at cross-purposes. haha

You should probably be most wary of your units. And how are your credits distributed between the CC and 4-year?

Lol yea sorry about the confusion!

You actually said it in the last sentence. I either didn’t read it or had a dyslexia moment.
