Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

I’m really curious of how they really evaluate biochem applicants! I kinda wonder if they really take into account the intensity of a student schedule as well every semester and that the student maintains the GPA.

Yes they do look at course load and maintaining/upward trend of GPA.

Thanks @lindyk8‌ . just out of curiosity, has anyone received invitation for UCLA transfer regent?

The anxiety/anticipation for this decision is getting so real… It doesn’t help that y’all are so impressive on here but it makes me that much more excited to be a peer with you guys if we do get in!

If anyone is willing to chance me it would be greatly appreciated, as I’m really nervous I applied under an impacted major

Major: Pre-Psych
TAP: Certified, Philosophy second-choice major
TAG: UC Davis
GPA: 3.91
IGETC: Complete
Pre-Reqs: Complete
ECs: work 30+ hours/week, watch my little sisters for my parents, good amount of volunteer hours, started a program to fight rape culture/violence against women at a local high school
Essays: really proud of them and think they show who I am as a student and person, also had help from a UCB counselor through their TAP program who edited my essays at least 5 times, but primary concern is I wrote my first essay about Philosophy because that is the major I applied to at UCB, though does show a passion for learning…
Misc: Low-income, applied to UCLA (first choice), Cal, and Davis

Anyone with similar stats get into Pre-Psych last year?

I’d say you are in @Jamesvmarino‌

Hey, can anyone chance me here? I’d really appreciate any feedback!

Major: Communication Studies
TAP: Yes, alternate major is Anthropology BA. (I know comm studies isn’t tap certified by itself)
TAG: no
GPA: 3.93 (Major GPA: 3.79 cause of a B in statistics) alternate: 4.0
IGETC: Will be completed by the end of this semester
Pre-Reqs: comm: every single possible one except two that weren’t offered at my college (nearest college to offer prereqs is 2 hours away), anthro: will have 2/3 done by end of semester
ECs: PR Officer/Writer for college newspaper, PR Officer for Phi Theta Kappa (Honor Society), Senator in student government, Honors Mentor to other honors students, Communications club
Jobs: worked at In n Out for a year
Volunteerwork: unpaid English tutor to middle school student for a year, volunteered at elementary school for a year, worked on campaign that gave millions of dollars to my college (few months), volunteered at congressman election for a month.
Essays: 1- talked about how the discipline of comm made me confident since a high school public speaking meltdown in front of hundreds of students, 2- talked about how I overcame a struggle for understanding my ethnic identity. (Both essays read by UCLA faculty as well as Comm professors and tutors at my college), so rating 9/10 on both.
Misc: completed 7 honors classes (some in my major) instead of the 5 required to complete honors program, Dean’s list and other awards.
Accepted: CSUF, UCSD, UCSB
Pending: UCB and UCLA

You are right on it for UCLA.

These UCs be KILLING me! I know its just an acceptance or rejection but I have been on my toes all month, freaking out. I’ll be trying to study and instead I’m on the forum looking for something, anything that hints at me getting in or not. checking my email constantly like an insane person . And it so does not help that my parents both think I’m rejected bc I haven’t heard back already. Like way to support me mom and dad!! way to add fuel to the flame ~X(

Does this mean I am in? I am pretty excited about this, but I don’t want to get my hopes up! I applied as an Architecture major, out of state transfer.

Freshman friend was accepted last Friday and received this shortly afterwards! Perhaps you should call because transfer decisions have traditionally come out after April 10th. It certainly sounds like a “likely letter” like engineering hopefuls receive! Good luck!

You aren’t the only one it’s driving me crazy!!

@Happy2Help‌ Do you know when these likely letters come out for engineering students? Thanks

Has anyone made a MyUCLA account with your UCLA ID #?
