Fall 2016 Transfer Thread - Cornell University

@hf1234 21st of April is rejection day?

@ibtes96 I’m an international student too. What are you stats, if you don’t mind sharing?

@AimHighandFight I am applying for Chemistry and Chemical Biology in CAS

@transferind97 statistically it appears to be when a lot of the rejections came out in previous years

If decisions really are coming out starting this next Tuesday, then people should start getting the instructions email by Monday. Could it really be that decisions are FINALLY coming out?!! …is anyone else internally freaking out? lol

@blackwidow22 I’m freaking out!!! I looked at my essays and I wish I could have written things better but it’s too late now

I called CAS, and they said: “it’ll be a while, maybe the first week of May”. I also emailed Mr. Finlay (okay, maybe a little overkill) and he said, specifically with regards to Transfer Option decisions, that students tend to hear back late April, give or take. Based on previous years, the decisions have come as early as today, although it looks like they’re extra backed up this year. Most of the decisions for Fall 2015 transfer applicants came around April 22-27th ish. But many also came in early May.

@hf1234 I know!!! This is all very scary and exciting haha. Yes, I’ve also thought about changes in my app :S

@tiramisu2 I think we can safely say then that decisions SHOULD come out starting next week ongoing until about middle of May.This must mean that we should get the email with the instructions for the decision portal at least a couple of days before the decision is available.

I applied to JHU and I got an email today from them saying their instructions email will be sent out soon and that decisions will be available some time mid-May…so as a general rule it appears at this point we are looking at the period when we should get that decision email with the instructions to the portals…it is finally here!!!

@tiramisu2 When did you email him? I emailed him on Tuesday but still haven’t heard from him so I am really worried about it.

He can take a while to reply. I think they’re really swamped right now.

@tiramisu2 That’s a relief. I thought I was already rejected or something like that.

@transferind97 What are your stats?

For any ILR students:

Ian emailed me today and said that they’re still waiting on documents from many students so the majority of the decisions will be released within the next 2-3 weeks

@transferind97 You sound very competitive but the fact that you’re an active member in 11 clubs doesn’t sound too credible. I would have honed in on the top 3-5 clubs and spoke about those but hey, take my opinion with a grain of salt. I really don’t know much about this. In Ivy Leagues such as Cornell they really look at your essays so if those are as well written as you say they are then you definitely have a solid chance.

@NjTransfer2016 I mentioned only two clubs in my activities list though. Two of those that are the closest to my heart and the ones that I work the hardest for. I created one of those clubs and I’m an executive board member of another

2-3 freaking weeks??? I can’t wait that long wth!! Isn’t it rolling though? For applicants with already completed applications is it safe to say we’ll hear back by April? @NjTransfer2016

@burnt2the3rd yea

Should I call or email admissions if it looks like they still haven’t received my hs transcript? They’ve got everything else but I’m puzzled as to why they don’t have this. The portal still says something about how they can’t respond to emails or calls but it’s been a month since the deadline so I just want to make sure there’s not some problem

@sam998 call them first thing on Monday. They will help you. What school are you applying to?

How many ILR hopefuls here??

I feel like this would make it easier for us to gage how many people in this thread are applying to ILR
