Fall 2016 Transfer Thread - Cornell University

S1 was a CALS (Dyson) transfer a few years back. He did not get his decision until the first week in May.

does anyone know when decisions for CoE comes out?

hey everyone! i’m applying for fall transfer and was wondering about standardized tests… I have a 2120 superscore SAT and 32 ACT which average exactly the same, and the only reason I would send SAT in addition to ACT is because of my 770 on Math. However, Cornell requires all SAT sittings to be sent, and my first one wasn’t good at all, so should I just send the ACT and send my Math II subject (750) instead? thank so much!!

Did Cornell received all your materials yet? I sent in my materials like two weeks ago but half of those they still haven’t got it, I’m worried…

@sumner I sent in my materials around the last week of February and they are still missing 3 of them. Don’t worry too much about it. They just marked one off a day ago, they have tons of mail to sort and it takes them a while. As long as you sent them before 3/01 you are okay.

You mean 3/15?

I’m about to send in my midterm report, does it just have to be postmarked by the 15th?

Yes haha. As long as it is postmarked by 3/15

@Sumner My official transcript was sent out 2/3 but it is still missing. I asked them and they told me they will let us know if there is a missing item at the end of April. They also said they are busy looking at freshmen applications before transfer applications. I am still worried about it but I will just wait until the end of Aprill.

Did anyone attach their resume?

@jackpotgirl777

So I submitted everything thing and I just need to wait about a week??

@newopportunities I didn’t attach it. Did you?

@IULover typically it does seem to take up to a week to get the ID/pin to login to the applicant website

@blackwidow22 I ended up deciding not to since there’s already a section for EC’s on the common app :slight_smile:

Do you guys think if transferring as a sophomore from OOS (+ as an international student) is almost impossible? I lack five credits (semester) to meet the junior required credits. ToT

@newopportunities I attached mine. My resume has a little more information on awards/ECs, so I figured it might be worthwhile.

Sounds good! @thenarddog1
So I was thinking of not sending my scores to Cornell, but it says that if you took them you have to send them
Plus I reported them on common app (meaning I took them)
so I guess I have to send them my scores??

Hi guys, current sophomore at Cornell here (transferred last year). My transfer friends and I are currently building a Non profit dedicated to help transfer students with the admissions process. However we wanted to know from you guys, the applicants, what information you would find helpful to you while applying. Let me know what struggles you all are having and I would be happy to help the best I can. Good luck this year to all of you.

@Collegeyadayada yo i love you. i wish you were here 5 months ago tho when I was stressing about the applicationt hough ugh.

Well one question I had was how ap scores played a factor and what happens if I didnt have a required course down. I had to call the admissions office to ask about it.

Another struggle, was all this annoying ass paper work. lmao.

And last one question, for some colleges, they require interview or phone appointments like the CHE and ILR. I feel like I screwed up my phone appointment for CHE. Do you have any tips to rebuttal against that?
