Fall 2016 Transfer Thread - Cornell University

@blackwidow22 I was not worried but once I saw your post I v become worried… My documents were checked as received except transcripts. However, transcripts, which were sent out on 2/3, are not yet marked as received. I am so worried about this… and Cornell keeps saying that just “wait until the end of March, then we will let you know.” Since I want my decision to come out as early as possible (before 5/1), I am so worried about it!

@jackpotgirl777 Me too!!! I sent in my transcripts at the beginning of March but they are still shown as missing. I really need the decision to come out early…

My cousin sent his in 2/12 and it took Cornell over a month to have it show on selfservice. Be patient.

Should all slot be marked as received by 3/15? are we late? I just completed my application and every slot is marked as received since this morning. I’m kind of worried :frowning:

@dingko as long as your common app/universal app and writing supplement was done before 3/15 you are fine. They expect the items you are not responsible for (transcripts and all that) to be late because of the mail and they don’t penalize you for it

@dingko You’re fine. All they require is the common application and the supplement (as stated above) by 3/15.
Aside: my cousin’s final document (I think it was the college report) was received and processed 3/17 and his application has been moved forward to the readers. But, they’re probably still reading freshman admits so it will likely be after Ivy Day before they begin actually reading transfers.

Wow, I’m surprised - I sent in my Mid-Term Report the day of the deadline and it’s already been processed and added to my file! They now have all the required materials for me - will the portal change to say that they’re reviewing my application soon?

when is ivy day again?

I think it is the 31st of March

i read in a previous transfer thread that it will say the application is being reviewed at some point

@anonymous55 It will say at the bottom of your documents portal.

@Burdened internally screaming and freaking out - it sure does, mine already says that “Your materials have been received. Your application has been forwarded to the admissions staff for review”

@blackwidow22 Congratulations. You’ve taken a big step and you’re almost there. For now just take it easy, keep working hard and enjoy your last semester at your current college/university. Have you submitted your financial aid documents?

@burdened Thanks! I am so excited and freaking out but in the BEST way :). Yes, I submitted all of my documents at the same time I submitted my application. Cornell is working on checking off 2 of the documents right now, so all I have to do is just wait

Thanks guys. Good luck all!

@dingko yes good luck!! I wish everyone could get in! Regardless of the outcome, this is always a good experience for everyone

Let the countdown begin haha

I am wondering if any of you submit the midterm report using Cornell’s online system. I submitted mine at around March 8th, but it is still marked as pending… Do we have to mail the midterm report to Cornell? Really worried…

@cornell1203 I submitted my midterm report using their online form on February 25th and it still hasn’t been marked as received! In the same boat as you…

For those of you who submit midterm reports successfully, how do you guys send the report? Really appreciated!

@cornell1203 Cousin emailed as many documents as possible. He emailed 2/14-ish and it was processed within a week.

The transfer applicants’ supporting documents likely came in at around the same time and they’re working through a large volume of them. Once they’ve processed the documents, they usually notify you of any missing documents.
