Fall 2016 Transfers - Official Thread

Admissions is now saying another 4-6 weeks.

@drdreidel The AO said 4-6 weeks for engineering applicants?OMG…

If we really need to wait for another month, I think the final report might be taken into consideration.

Was accepted CoE this morning so you guys may want to check access if you haven’t already

Congrats @spiritualpoverty ! Do you mind sharing your stats?

Sure. 69 completed credits at a small, private liberal arts school in Michigan. I’m led to believe that 60 will transfer. I earned a 4.0 in all of those classes, including all prerequisite courses. 30 ACT (36 math, 29 science), and I was admitted LSA when I applied as a freshman. Decided to switch it up this time and go with engineering haha

@Chuck40 and thank you! Best of luck my friend

I inquired upon my application today (Computer Science in COE) and was told that my decision would be released within two weeks. I would imagine other COE applicants still waiting could expect the same.

i received the reply of my transfer decision inquiry on May 4 that they are going to send the decision letters of engineering transfer accepted students in next week or two. This is the 2nd week, trust me they are just guessing the time. The unexpected going to happen

Did anyone withdraw the admission after paying a deposit? Is it possible ??

Can someone chance my brother? He’s applying to LSA for CS.

Background: First gen college student, Southeast Asian
HS GPA: 3.0
ACT: 20
Local CC GPA: 3.53
Credits: 45
College ECs: Won 1st place for college diversity writing contest, student ambassador

Not sure if it was just a coincidence but almost immediately after I submitted my most recent semester transcripts I was able to view my decision on wolverine access. It might be a good idea to send those if you haven’t already

When did you complete all prerequisites?

well, my transcript for this semester will be available at May 21th. i still need to wait

So almost 4 months after the application deadline and only one college of engineering acceptance thus far? I am getting pretty annoyed to say the least.

I had an email conversation with one of the admissions counselors, and I was notified that I will be receiving a decision “shortly.” Based on that email and another phone conversation that I had with the office, it sounds like they are going to release all of the decisions within a few days.

I went to transfer orientation yesterday (there are more dates available for later this summer) and just about everybody I met had the same academic background. 3.5-4.0 GPA and all prerequisite courses completed. If that sounds like you then you should be in good shape. Most were community college students but I don’t think that really mattered. Only a few dozen of the students at orientation yesterday were CoE, so there will still be plenty of acceptances to come later this summer.

@spiritualpoverty What was transfer orientation like? Did you make any friends off the bat or get some free gear?

Yeah I got a t-shirt and lunch. I made a few friends and went on tours. The day is concluded with departmental advising and class scheduling, so you’ll sit down with a professor and work out a plan for your first semester
