Fall 2016 Transfers - Official Thread

I submitted my application on February 1st and they told me today that I will hear back by the end of April. My application was marked complete in the beginning of March. Best of luck to all!

my application was completed on Feb. 10th but I still have not received any notification…kinda fraustrating

Accepted to LSA! Unfortunately, im like 80% sure I wont enroll, OOS tuition is nuts, and ive gotten a good scholarship from my decent state school.
Stats:

Majors of Interest: poli sci/econ/statistics
HS GPA: 2.3
CC GPA: 3.85
3 LOR
1750 SAT
think my essays got me in.

@thenarddog1 Did you apply for your sophomore or junior year?

@Baughler junior with 70 credits from doing extra courses, looks like I only have about 40 which are transferable though, so I’d be in a gray area if I were to enroll

I was also just accepted to LSA!

H.S. GPA: 3.1 or something
CC GPA: 4.0
1850 SAT
60+ credits

Good luck to those who are still waiting to hear back!

@ryanblaire did you find out by email or mail?

First I checked Wolverine Access and had the option to ‘view decision,’ then I got an email an hour later

Does anyone know when we will be informed about UM grant aid/transfer scholarship? All ive gotten is my federal loan offers

@thenarddog1 I was wondering the same

I got my grants and loan offers at the same time. Maybe you guys didn’t get any grants?

Called UM financial aid about my estimated package… basically said I most likely wont be getting any grants/the estimate includes ALL aid (I only goat loans). 60k/year is too much for me, so Im not enrolling :frowning:

Anyone got the CoE results yet? My friend’s application was completed on 3.28 and there is another 6 weeks’ wait according to the admission office… :frowning:

Accepted into LSA!

Applied as a senior in high school
High school GPA: 3.5
College gpa: 4.0 (First semester)
30 ACT

Do I need to send my second semester grades even though I’ve already been accepted?

Going on 9 weeks now since my application was marked complete. Wondering what is taking the CoE such a long time…

Admission office said that due to too many freshman applicants this year, transfer decision has been delayed. After freshman decision, same people will do for transfer. ~O)

Checked my Wolverine Access this evening and saw that I’d been admitted to LSA! Haven’t received an email yet, so hopefully it’s not a prank. But to give y’all hope here are my stats, cause they’re not very good.

HS GPA: 3.4 from highly competitive top 25 national private school (California)
College GPA: 3.0 freshman year from Top 50 University (had a bad experience that was talked about in my common app essay) 4.0 sophomore year from local California community college
31 ACT (if it matters)

Lots of Extracurriculars:
Currently work at a retail store
Currently intern at Silicon Valley Start Up
On Student Government at Community College
Spent a summer volunteering at a homeless shelter in India
Volunteered as a mentor for underprivileged boys last year in New Orleans

Accepted to LSA today! Got an email at approx. 3 pm.

Out of state community college student.

Stats:
HS GPA: God awful- seriously
CC GPA: 3.8
ACT: 31

Extracurriculars: 2 jobs, a political internship, and involvement in multiple clubs at my CC.

I did not expect to get in, so this was an amazing surprise. Honestly I think my essays are a big reason I got in.

Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to those still waiting to hear back! Go Blue!

Super excited to have gotten accepted into LSA yesterday!

Out of state
Applying as a second time transfer
SAT: 2240
ACT: 33
High School: Reputable online independent study program, GPA 3.73 UW
College #1: Unranked health science based university, GPA 3.57
College #2: #100-120 ranked private university, GPA 3.88

Extracurriculars: Lots of involvement in research (four publications), lots of volunteer service (mainly education and medical related), online job writing for a newsletter with ~18,500 subscribers

For those still waiting, I would definitely encourage you to NOT freak out by checking WolverineAccess every other hour like how I did. Obviously check it like once a day or so just to make sure they aren’t suddenly missing something from your application, but it’s very stressful and a huge waste of time to keep on checking it. I ended up finding out by email, which is a lot easier to check :stuck_out_tongue:

Can someone chance me?
