@grimmghost I have no idea.
@grimmghost you’ll be notified around August. Single dorm rooms are actually in a group of 5, and they share one bathroom in the hall. This group of 5 is usually at the ends of the dorm floor. Look at the floorplans. Also I’ll PM you!
ETA: http://www.uclahousingtour.com/ pick Hedrick Summit and pick a floor, check the purple rooms.
Ok awesome, thanks @Happy2Help
UCLA is still the cheapest though. Last year when I was accepted to UCI I was given an extra scholarship for 6k and guranteed 2 yr housing. I wish the financial aid package was out already for me.
@grimmghost
@Happy2Help is right about everything regarding housing costs.
Is housing random? Or first come first serve?
Like, should I SIR right now and apply for housing? I’d rather wait until mid-May.
@luckie1367 oh okay! Then I guess I won’t get to live near Weyburn Terrace then.
You don’t have to SIR right now. Housing is not first come, first served.
I don’t get the on-campus housing prices at all… Or which one to apply to. #-o
Sooooo, now that everyone has heard back, who is for sure going to this incredible university???
Me! I feel incredibly fortunate and have been told the professors are amazing by the current students I know that attend now.
Yes, indeed they are! What major did you get into?
Is Hedrick Summit the only available structure for transfer students?
@grimmghost No, it was an example to show you how single rooms are set up on a floor. I know Hedrick Summit has this setup and I am sure others do too. That is, when you pass down the hall and get to the end, you enter a locked door into a small common space, in which there is a door on each side leading into another hallway to a 5 single locked rooms plus bathroom.
In addition to the transfer community, there will be other floors of different dorms that house transfers. They will do their best to put you with other transfers.
If you don’t know any other transfers that you’d like to dorm with, I would suggest that at Bruin Transfer Day, you might all try to meet and determine whether you might want to be roommates, instead of allowing Housing to decide for you.
Oh ok, @Happy2Help Thank you
I’m for sure going! I got in as a physics major, and accepted my offer of admission last night. Also applied for housing! I’m trying to live in the “transfer experience” housing community.
me! if I dont get rescinded
I accepted my offer of admission immediately. But now I have this dread…like perhaps my transcripts won’t match up to what I self reported (even though I quadruple-checked) or they’ll send me a “Sorry, we accidentally sent you an offer of admission and now we have to take it back,” etc. Or some other thing happening. I won’t actually believe I’m a Bruin until I plop my butt down in a seat on the first day of class.
Does anyone know if a transfer FB page has been created for Fall 2016 Transfers? I’m aware that there is a UCLA transfer page, but I think limiting the amount of potential roommates would help us out.
Sociology. What about you?
