FALL 2016 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

@xenoplanet - From what I’ve been told, IGETC is a separate certificate from your transcript. I think it depends on the CC you go to as to whether or not it’s included and sent along with the transcript but I went to SMC and had to order it separately and sent to UCLA.
I believe we have until September 1st to send it in.

@edirol if you’re able to generate a PDF report, look around page 2 or 3 under the section “General Education Exemption Status”. If they’ve received your certification, it’ll say you’re exempt because you completed IGETC.

If it’s not there yet, don’t fret. It takes time to be entered. It’ll be there by the time your orientation date. It wouldn’t hurt to call them though, to make sure they’ve received all your transcripts through Fall coursework (June 1 deadline) and then for Spring coursework (July 1).

@xenoplanet yes you need to order IGETC certification from your CC and have it sent, just like a transcript.

@xenoplanet IGETC certification must be done by your community college.

What you need to do is go to your admissions office and ask to get IGETC certified (it will usually cost money so be prepared). What will happen is, the school you are coming from will stamp your transcripts with a huge IGETC CERTIFIED stamp. This stamp will be on top of your OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS that go through spring semester. You usually get IGETC certified when you are turning in your transcripts through spring. Has to be done by the July 1st deadline.

@Happy2Help - Do I generate a pdf report by hitting the ‘run audit’ button? I’ve done that and it doesn’t show me anything… maybe I just need to be patient.

@Edirol if it doesn’t show anything then it’s not ready to process your report because all your transcripts aren’t entered yet.

How long did it take your transcript to arrive? I sent mine 11 days ago, and I still don’t see the pending mark on my.ucla…

Chance me for UCLA!

The provisional letter/admission contract says to maintain the GPA listed on our application, so how does that apply to taking a summer sessions course?

disregard

Just signed up for a session C course! Who else is/has already?! :slight_smile:

@wannabeflower I did.

@selimpride - did you get your residency stuff figured out?

@Edirol

Nope, still waiting to hear back, I submitted my summer housing app two weeks ago.

When I went to sign up for Session C courses it had me noted as a freshman with no credits. That’s because they haven’t received my final transcripts, right? Has anyone else run into this issue? I have way over 90 quarter units.

Signed-up for session A

@selimpride - thinking of you! hoping it all gets settled. this must be so stressful for you right now :confused:

i sent my transcripts to UCLA a few days ago, and now on the portal it says that it’s pending and that “the preliminary transcript has been received, but a final transcript is still required.” when is the due date for final transcripts? i’m good for the june 1st deadline thus far?

I just talked to someone from the admissions of my CC who said my IGETC won’t be certified by July 1st. Thats the deadline, right? Does UCLA really crack down on that date? I didn’t think it would take two months to get that certified.

Edit: Never mind. My contract says: If you are transferring from a California community college or a University of California campus and will complete IGETC or UC Reciprocity, respectively, submit your official certification by September 1, 2016.

@themightybicycle As long as you sent in transcripts through Fall 2015 from all college institutions you attended, yes, you’re good for the June 1st deadline.

Final transcripts through Spring 2016 are due July 1st. But IGETC certification isn’t due until September 1st.

You won’t be rescinded if one of your transcripts doesn’t make it by 6/1, right?
I have a receipt of the payment I made over a month ago and I have confirmation it was sent on the 25th of April. I called last week and they just told me to be patient but we’re now a week or so out and I just don’t want to be told I can’t go to orientation because of this.
