Hey guys! so for the UC GPA we can find through the UC Davis portal, is that our gpa for the other UCs as well? I spent my freshman year of college at a different college, so I never really figured out what my actual UC GPA was (because I wasn’t sure which courses from my previous college were UC transferrable)
@littlebuns Try to reverse-engineer the method they used to come up with that number by taking a weighted average of your grade points, in which you treat units from all colleges as having equal weight. Do this only for assist-certified UC transfer courses and see if the numbers match.
I heard that they consider your overall GPA, not just the transferrable GPA.
@lexluther96 I had no idea about that! That makes me feel a lot better LOL
@mightyMETA I just did! It was very similar to the GPA which UC Davis posted!! Thank you for the help and suggestion!
Look up UC Transfer admission review process or UCTV on YouTube. The President of Admissions (of Berkeley, I believe) talks about the UC review process and what GPA they consider or ask your counselors. They don’t consider non-transferable courses. They see your overall GPA, but that’s not what you’re judged on.
Wednesday seems so close but so far away :(( :((
@LynAmmo Whoa interesting, was this specifically concerning the transfer admission process?
@lululala1122 Just like the Hindu conception of reality; old as time, but fresh as the sunrise
@mightyMETA Yeah, every school was represented, I think EXCEPT for UCLA (of course ), I watched it the second I graduated high school, so I’m not sure if it’s still there, but I know it was on UCTV. I’ll try to find it for you guys.
ugh what thats not cool
The nerves are finally starting to set in. :((
Can’t find the same exact video that I saw, but this one explains all the comprehensive review, the transfer admission planner, etc etc. The transfer devoted portion of the video starts at 35:00, this lady kind of starts rambling, but aye that’s what we got: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12jGF9Aj6Bk
Here is a way to calculate your UC GPA: http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/transfer/preparing-admission/transfer-gpa/index.html
An easier way, the way I did it, is to put your coursework in the UC transfer admissions planner and it will do it automatically for you: https://uctap.universityofcalifornia.edu/students/
my counselor also said they only look at the grades for transferable courses
Gah can’t believe we have to wait two more dumb days
I’ve gotten numb from the waiting (
@FaithGraceUC Seriously. I can’t believe we haven’t found a “trick” to be able to tell us ahead of time. I scoured through the whole myUCLA website and nothing. Wasted about two hours ~X( as the days get closer, the harder it is for me to wait!
When people say that they are missing prereqs, does that just mean that they are not complete, as in taking them in the spring, or that you will not have taken then by the end of spring?
@champagnemami I wanna say as in they will NOT have taken them by spring… Because if you are taking them in the spring you can always state that in your TAU update way back in January, and also you can say that in the original application I think… so it’d be considered “will be done” or even “done.” For me, I need to finish my math and english class for my prereqs and in my UCI conditions for admissions, it says as long as I finish them with a C or higher I’ll be fine So I’m assuming people who are worried about pre-reqs aren’t planning to finish them at their CC at all.
Can someone knock me out until 4:59pm on Wednesday?
Anyways, all my counselors at CC said that they judge your transferable GPA, but I talked to the head of a program that helps you through the application process for transfer – although he is a freshmen application reader at Cal – and he said they look at your overall GPA – including non-trasfer level classes. Although he was kind of unclear and quick in his response because I asked him when he was busy. So he might have meant that they merely look at it?
Do you guys know if UCLA will post decisions at 5:00 PM Wednesday or earlier?
