@Highhistoryhopes I’m an Anthro Major too. I didn’t do calc, only stats. Everything else is done. My portal is still pending. Feel like I will be denied so hard by Monday 
@yelloww I got in with the tag! So that’s why I think if you should contact them and see what went wrong with the tag and then show them that you fixed it they might reconsider the tag. I wish you the best of luck!!!

Just got waitlisted for Anthropolgy with PH for alt. Is appealing an option for transfers? Checked my portal at 10pm. How does the process for getting off the waitlist work?

I had checked my portal yesterday and saw I was waitlisted I never got an email
I got an email around 3am saying to check my portal bc I had a status update.
I still have nothing… sigh

@lrecupero So messed up that they wait so long to reject us, I’m over this school. Where will you be going? I’ll be at CSULB where they at least respect my time 
I got accepted to all the CSUs I applied to cus they don’t require Cal 2. Looks like I won’t have to kill myself this summer taking Cal 2 in an 8 wk course! Just some positives in this otherwise crappy situation that UCI has placed us in.
@lrecupero I honestly thought we’d at least get waitlisted considering people actually got accepted without finishing Cal 2!
@ncamp1234 I agree it is messed up. I didn’t apply to any CSU’s, I should have! If I were to go to one, it would be CSULB too. I just don’t understand what I did wrong. No shade towards anyone who got accepted, or even waitlisted, but I had the same, or almost the same, qualifications and I even had a higher GPA than some of the applicants. I had work experience, extracurriculars, multiple academic scholarships, I have my associate’s degree for transfer in business, I was on the Dean’s list, I had a high GPA, and my essays were well written. I got offered Regents at Pepperdine University for business, but I couldn’t afford to go even with the scholarship. UCI was my top choice. I don’t see why I was left out of the group chosen. Everything was strong on my application. At times, saying “it’s not fair” is not being petty, it is being valid.
@lrecupero same to everything. I’m also a veteran and the reason I couldn’t take Cal 2 was because my spouse is in the military still and they made a giant mistake by giving us orders to another state when we were supposed to never leave, making it not possible for me to continue my plans to go to UCI because we weren’t even supposed to stay in CA. And obviously it wouldn’t be financially possible for us to split up plus we both have a family, the cons outweigh the pros. I explained that to them and I guess it wasn’t a valid reason.
Once again, I agree and feel the same way as you. No shade to anyone, great for them for getting in, but I just don’t get why we wouldn’t get in unless it were to be because of us personally because academically I know we are qualified. And I know that personally we are great people also, so UCI took the real L not letting us in haha. I wish you the best of luck though. Appeal!!! And CSULB admits for the spring quarter so maybe you can continue taking some classes just until fall!
ARGHH. UCI please post decisions already so I can move on with my life ;-;. Civil Eng Major waitingggggggggg.
