Waitlisted for Business Administration
GPA 3.73
TAG: No
IGETC: Done by end of Spring
First year I was a computer science major at UC Santa Cruz. Now at community college for business admin. 3.96 GPA for community college classes with 3.8 major GPA. STEM classes from UCSC definitely brought the overall GPA down a little bit.

@Lhern06 honestly don’t give up hope. I had a 3.0 and my twin sister got into every UC applied to end I’ve been waitlisted to 4/4 UCs which is unheard of. You might be waitlisted for accepted! I hope you get in
To everyone who is still waiting, if you can, go out and enjoy your weekend cus UCI is probably gonna wait until Monday night to give us rejections. Just being a realist. That’s what I plan on doing. Y’all will be great so don’t let this get you down! 
@ncamp1234 You are right. We were qualified academically, we didn’t get chosen for personal reasons. Shame on UCI. I would have thought they would have been above that. Your reason was perfectly acceptable. That’s terrible of them! I am a single mother, working my butt off and going to school, and I’ve accomplished so much with all the hardships I’ve had to endure. I am going to appeal for sure. Oh okay! I will check and see if I can still apply for a Spring admit there. Thanks for letting me know!
@lrecupero for spring 2019, CSULB starts accepting apps this August.
And yeah that’s all I am left to deduce. Whatever the reason was anyways, I’m ok with whatever “opportunities” I’ll miss by not attending there, I’ll just create more for myself elsewhere. It just makes me want to work harder so I can be successful enough and have a platform where I can give back to all the (typically disadvantaged) communities that helped mold me as an individual (i.e. helping single mothers pay for college or scholarships for veterans, etc.)

the worst part is UCI is the only university I applied to since I thought I would get in because of my TAG application. lol.

GPA - 3.88
TAG - Yes, but it was voided because I initially applied for Psychology/Cognitive Science
Pre-req - Mostly completed except I&C33 because it wasn’t offered
IGETC - Yes
Anyone tagged uci for business information management and haven’t heard anything yet? I mean the waiting is so annoying. I still have no new messages on portal, and I literally check it every single hour! I don’t know if it means an rejection or waitlist now, why can’t they just tell us the decision instead of waiting. It’s really frustrating.
I’m sorry to those who didn’t get the news they wanted. I know it’s not what everyone wants to hear, but one decision isn’t the end of the world and things will work out for everyone no matter what!!!
@Irecupero considering you applied as a business admin and didn’t complete calc 2, it kind of is conceivable that you might get rejected, it seems fair though considering on assist.org it explicitly says that calc 2 is a REQUIRED course for admission.
@ncamp1234 you also don’t seem to have completed calc 2 as well, so a rejection is kind of anticipated. UCI is strict on their pre reqs.

@ImJustaPerson we know, there is just legit people who have gotten in without calc 2, otherwise we wouldn’t even be having this convo, and like @lrecupero said who had lower GPAs too
@ImJustaPerson UCI accepted people for the business admin major and they didn’t complete Cal 2. If you read my posts, you would see that I clearly stated that I am in the exact same situation as some who have got accepted. People who are currently taking Cal 1 and have not completed Cal 2, like myself, have been accepted into the business admin major.

@Irecupero Can you also link that comment? Is it possible that they are taking it this spring?
If it’s in the case where they are not taking Calc 2 at all, that’s not possible. Probably a miscommunication?
@ImJustaPerson Tbh I’m not even gonna spend my time sifting through pages and pages of comments to prove that to you. Idk if @lrecupero wants to do that, but I just hopped on a second ago to see if anything changed, and quickly responded, without any intentions to discuss in length about this.
@lrecupero and I have been on this thread awhile waiting for UCI to release decisions and we aren’t lying or making this up to be bitter. We had no hopes of getting in until people said they did without cal 2. And like I said, I’ve accepted the rejection and I’m more than happy to attend another school.

HELLO ALL
I found out that I just got accepted to UCI. This was a complete shock because of the fact that I am a business major and I’m currently taking calculus 1 but they require transfer students to take calculus 2! I thought for sure that I’d get rejected because of this. I had all the other requirements completed though!
*There is not a miscommunication. She clearly stated she has not taken Cal 2 at all and is currently taking Cal 1. Once again, I am not bashing anyone, I really am happy for everyone that got accepted, I am just frustrated that I wasn’t able to be a part of that group. Everyone clearly deserves a spot, and there isn’t one for everyone. For whatever reason, it wasn’t me this year. I will move on lol.
Hey guys, lurker and first time poster. This feels like a silly question, but how do we know if our TAG for uci went through and was accepted? On the portal i have no messages regarding admissions or anything, and I haven’t gotten any emails from UCI. Super confused.
@lovetoast05 Congrats again, and to everyone else. I hope I didn’t come off as being “mad” at anyone, or putting others down. Everyone deserved to be accepted, I am just sad that I couldn’t celebrate with you all. I hope everyone has a great year!
