omg congrats!! I’m not sure how to send late appeals can you link me to the website? because it says appeal deadlines were on March 31st?
@dbxstian i want to late apply for UCR
@theScreen look up “ucr late appeal”, click on the first link. It should be a pdf download link labeled “Fall Appeal Process”. Read and follow the instructions for submitting a late application appeal. Once you finish it, send the packet to the address provided. Make it look nice and make sure everything’s ordered! Don’t forget anything they ask for, as they may not even look at it if somethings missing!
@dbxstian You sure UCR is still open to receive appeals for transfer decisions? I’m reading a pdf and it says the deadline for that was Apr 15
@YourSenpai yes! I checked my uc application, and its allowing me to pay the application fees. It says “preauthorization” instead of closed. I think the deadline is for freshman. Or if they have space available, they just waive it. I sent my appeal on April 24, way after the deadline. Just make sure to include everything they ask for!
@Rajshah26 Yes, and my CC GPA and major GPA are a 4.0 but I suspect its due to my poor academic standing at UCR, I dropped out on AP with like a 1.7. I emailed UCSD admissions prior to applying and what they told me was:
I kinda ignored it for like 5 months then got rejected from everywhere with stellar grades lol
@fillorianguy33 I know my response is not an absolute answer but if you are thinking of going to med/dental/pharmacy, I would go to bio at cal. It prepares you better since bio focus a lot more extensively on medical stuff. But with nursing, you still need to study extra bio and chemical stuff after you graduate with nursing degree.
The reason why I chose nursing is because I am not willing to go to extra school life after undergrad.
But if you are interested in going to grad school, cal is much easier to get good grades which makes you stronger candidate for grad school.
@dbxstian Engineering classes? Nope. All I took was all the math up to linear algebra and diff equations, 3 semester of physics, two semesters of general chem, a programming class, and finished igetc. It looks like UCI was strict on completing all prereqs and igetc.
@Jroro95 awesome! We have the same exact courses completed. I’m asking because on assist theres some engineering courses in the major prep. I was wondering if missing them was an auto reject, guess not!
@jinyung2 Damn. So how is UCR for CS ? I only have UCR and UCSD to choose from. Which one toh recommend?
@Rajshah26 I can’t give you much input on CS at UCR, in 2010 I was admitted as a mathematics major. I heard the program is very good but I would recommend UCSD. My brother is a graduate from UCSD with a CS degree and he speaks very highly of it (maybe some bias). In terms of rankings on websites for CS programs, UCSD tends to rank higher in most criteria.
UCR is also hot as balls man cant beat la jolla weather lol
Hey is anyone interested here already for UCI apartments? Let me know if you are because I need roommate(s) for Fall 2018!!!
Can you appeal with a different major or just start a new late application? Music major rejects here. I got tempted when I saw the posts about late application. I had a 3.15 GPA when I applied and my EC was basically nothing. But now my GPA got boosted to 3.58 and I just got an art scholarship at our school they only gave out 6. Also getting my AA this semester. Honestly the music program at UCI is so Performance oriented it doesn’t fit my goal to teach K-12 Music. Feel like I’m better off applying for Education major(Tag major) and minoring in Music then get credentialed after.
I know I should be asking the admission right now but want to know if anybody here’s thinking about doing similar things.
@penny94731 I think you can appeal on the basis of considering another major instead. I’m not sure though, you should definitely contact admissions. Late appeals only apply if you never sent an application, like in my case. Since you did send one, you’d probably just appeal based on rejection. Congrats on your scholarship! I also got one recently and using it to appeal to UCSB
Does anyone know if there’s a standard day that UCI usually releases financial aid offers?
does anyone know around what time they would start accepting from waitlist?
how is the psych program at UCI?
@hellooall They start accepting students off the waitlist beginning June 1 and on.
@Jroro95 Are you certain it’s beginning on June 1? Who told you this
@YourSenpai Well, that’s what UCLA said when I agreed to placed in their waitlist lol Considering this year’s last ass admission responses, it might be late July for Irvine!
