I don’t see anything either and I didn’t apply for aid.
I feel sort of silly - I submitted the FAFSA before the deadline, but when I looked on their Student Financial Services website I clearly remember seeing something that said: “do NOT submit the CSS Profile.” I don’t know if I was on the Graduate Fin. Aid website or what, but since I saw that statement, I didn’t submit the CSS. Then I come on here and see that everyone else did, LOL… The reason I even applied to UVA was for the aid. I’m normally not one to forget a form either, so this is strange.
Thankfully financial aid is independent of admissions, but if I get in (doubtful, as an OOS biology applicant) it’ll be one meager package. Big oof.
Same, it appears all of us who didn’t apply for aid are in the same boat as of right now in terms of the no info found thing.
this final stretch wait is unbearable!
Lol it’s like Christmas Eve for adults.
Guys someone told me that they called UVA and were told that the transfer credit requirements don’t really matter and are just a guideline for freshman. I’m super confused becasue everywhere else I’ve heard that having those right transfer req courses are important but now apparently thats not true??
I only finish about half of the requirement classes, and I’m worried about that…I have inquiry access denied for 2020 and 2021, hope it’s a good sign. If I got rejected by UVA, I’ll probably just stay at W&M. It’s a good school, just I love bigger places haha. @hashtagrejected
W&M is a great school. They will probably also recognize that when reviewing you too I’d imagine. Due to the possibility of people unsure about whether or not they want to go in the fall due to the virus, family concerns, unsuitability for online courses, etc. it will be interesting to see how that will affect the number of admissions and enrollment at universities and the number of students pulled off the waitlist this year. And I’m talking in regards to all universities everywhere.
SIS shows me my financial aid amount which I find funny because my current institution (W&M) hasn’t given me my aid for next school year. Honestly, I might seriously consider UVA if they accept me because they’re offering quite a bit more than W&M does right now (although idk what I will be getting next year, probably less tbh).
I’m also preparing for a rejection. I applied for aid but have nothing on my SIS
The fact that no aid applicants have no early “indication” of acceptance is both a blessing and a curse… it’s going to be a rough 4 days. Don’t feel great about my chances but I’m praying
I wish I had an early indicator tbh. The only even slight “nod” for me is the LGBT question, which I doubt makes much of an impact. So it’s real spooky hours in this CC thread for no finaid applicants.
@niniwah is bio competitive?
why are so many people trying to transfer from w&m is it really that bad? I personally loved the school and I am actually trying to transfer there everywhere on the internet it seems like everyone just says theres a lot of inflation and its boring. I am an either UVA hopeful or W&M. But I was leaning a lot into W&M because I like the nerdy quirkiness of the school. And now its just more confusing because i see a lot of people transferring out of w&m?
@nining it’s one of the most popular A&S majors, and they strongly prefer applicants to have many of the major requirements done. One of those is a biostatistics class, which isn’t offered anywhere in my CC system so I don’t have it, and I’m assuming applicants that do would be considered more heavily
I spoke with the admissions office regarding midterm reports (my current college doesn’t offer them) and they said to submit any form of current grades (if you want too) “immediately” because the deans are “wrapping up the decision process”.
I know plenty who go to W&M and love it. I will say that it is a more academic/studious environment, and there’s less emphasis on sports (which can be a good or a bad thing depending on your taste) and social life/partying. Although you can find it there, it’s just not as prominent of a scene as it is at UVA.
I liken it to small prestigious schools like Davidson or Wake Forest. Amazing academics, but less of a “traditional college experience”.
@niniwah thank you!
@CM7850 so they have still to formalize more application… which means that some people’s sis could get updated in next 1-2 days as they make more offers
Guys I need help. I uploaded my mid-term grades via the portal over a month ago and it said it had successfully been uploaded (something along those lines). However, I checked the portal again today and it’s not showing my midterm grades as an uploaded document. All it says is that they’re recieved my hs and first sem transcripts. Should I be worried? Maybe it just disappeared because it was uploaded a month ago and they can see it on their end?
