Are you guys going to dress up for the interview?
on the Yale website it says “the Admissions Office will offer a select number of transfer applicants an opportunity to interview” buuuuut someone on here said everyone got one? so idk
Interesting. Maybe they are trying something new out this year
Hey guys, I got the interview request as well. But I’m not sure if I want to do it since it is “optional.” I really don’t like timed interview…In the email it say if you choose not to participate, it will not negatively impact your application…b do you guys think that’s true? and since the interview is called standout, does that mean it will give you more chances to be admitted than those who choose not to do the interview?
If I were to do the interview, but not like how it came about, can I not upload it?
I don’t think so, which is why I’m concerned about doing it. there’s a chance that it just goes bad
I definitely plan to dress business-casual and prepare for the interview beforehand. Btw, where/how did you guys find out that everyone got the interview?
@EsmeR15 they don’t say anywhere officially, but since this interview is optional and basically everyone in this thread got it, we can probably assume all the applicants received the email
Imma try to knock out all my 3 interviews today
That is…until I found out that Yale has ZERO retries
oh great lol i got an error message after i finished -_- waiting for help desk now ;-;
@heyigotnoclue oh no! Hope your able to get it resolved quickly!
How was the interview? Were you able to note the questions? Same as practice?
YO - piece of advice - DO NOT DO THE STANDOUT INTERVIEW ON WEEKENDS cuz if you have an error message like i did, it may take longer to resolve and your information might get lost.
@heyigotnoclue - hello! i am still waiting for it to be resolved which is why i sent the previous post. the questions are very vague so its kinda annoying. it goes by so fast because there is no prep and so, i cant really even recall the questions.
;-; - welp.
the practice helped a bit but not by much. just go for it. my community college has two yale students who always come back each year and i asked him and her if the interview helps. not really - tbh - in their opinion. but idk.
I’m curious to know, what are your stats like? I’m concerned about my ACT score, I didn’t do too well. Do you guys think it will be big determiner in my application?
@EsmeR15 - lol i probably have the lowest sat in the forum but im chillin. i applied cuz why not LOL
1300 SAT & 29 ACT GANG WHERE YOU AT
I still applied with a 21 on my ACT… that’s why I’m a little worried lol. My GPA in college rn is a 4.0 (Chancellor’s List) and I graduated as the valedictorian from high school but I don’t know if that’s going to make up for my ACT.
@EsmeR15 - RELAXXX but always keep in mind that they only take like 15 students or something so… u know. keep ur opinions open and u will be fine
ALSO, my thing was fixed but IDK what the ending for the interview was so if anyone can fill me in about it, muchas gracias.
@heyigotnoclue wait, the standout interview doesn’t have retries? yikes
@ZoomUniversity23 - which is why i had a meltdown when my thing said ERROR.
good luck y’all

@EsmeR15 - lol i probably have the lowest sat in the forum but im chillin. i applied cuz why not LOL
1300 SAT & 29 ACT GANG WHERE YOU AT
at least ur sat is 1300 and not 1260
