Fall of 2016 Applicants

Does the housing offer come only after you accept admission? Or do they go in date order and make offers and then move on?? DD applied 10/13, has been admitted but has not accepted yet. Thanks

The link I posted makes it appear you have to have accepted your admission. My S got his auto admit in September and could have paid it then. He did not do that until January 1 shortly after he got his major. This is the first I have heard about housing contracts at all this year.

My S got his email late last night regarding the housing contract. Thanks for letting us know it was there so fast!

@NotSoPatient Housing contracts are offered in housing application date order to students who have accepted their enrollment.

Don’t worry, my son applied on Nov 29th and he is 2% of 530 students. ACT 36.SAT 2330, NMSF , all state musician and tons of EC like every other kid. He got into BiOMed about two weeks ago. Waiting for honor and all other stuff. I believe it is all just random, your son’s stat is decent, he will get in. By the way, my son got defered everywhere else during EA also not even 40 acre semifinalist. Guess that there are just too many super kids out there.

Just got accepted to UT Architecture. I applied in the middle of November. Did anyone else get results today?

One of the class2020 UT Facebook members posted a response they received from UT admissions counselor. It states

…(the first part is irrelevant the this thread, as it is person specific)…“We do have waves of acceptance, but the large majority of decisions have yet to be released. All students will found out their admissions decisions by March 1”.

Hope that helps alleviate some stress for those who have not heard yet.

@WineDrinker it is hard to figure out how they make admission decisions for biomedical engineering. My daughter was accepted to biomedical engineering November 17th. SAT 2190 (800 math and 750 writing). Class rank 42/504 so not in the top 8 percent. Very average ECs. White. I am surprised they took her so quickly when other more qualified students are still waiting. Still waiting to hear on engineering honors. She did attend the Honors Colloquium at UT last summer so maybe that helped. Being female probably helps as well.

Anyone hear from th school of social work yet?

@russiaguy I did as well!!!

@Snoaks Congratulations!! Have you decided which school you will attend?

@russiaguy No, its the first 5-year b.arch I’ve been accepted to. Hopefully Cornell but if not, UT for sure! (in-state tuition, man) Have you?

@Snoaks most likely UT. I also applied to Rice, but it will probably be to expensive, and their program is very long. I didn’t apply to any out of state schools.

Has anyone here gotten into the college of education yet?

@russiaguy and @Snoaks, would you guys mind posting your stats for the architecture program, still waiting on my decision but UT is one of my top choices.
