@ruzanne My daughter was a non-auto admit (in state) and was accepted into College of Natural Sciences (Computer Science) in December.
@rahadt I would guess no. Three waves have come out so far about a month apart each starting with the first wave on November 17. Next wave will probably around February 16 to 18.
Thanks - my daughter applied to Public Health, (Human Ecology). I think it’s a fairly small group within CNS so hopefully they just haven’t gotten there yet.
CS and neurosciences have nothing in common. Major closest to CS would be Math.
This probably explains why it takes CNS so long to decide. You daughter probably was not able to show that she was sure in her choice of major.
And with all the 4 year graduation rate campaign it’s a big deal now.
Good luck to your daughter!
@“Ya Ya”
Oh gosh hope that is not it. She wrote essay C all about why she wants CS and took a tour of CS and met with student advisors last spring. Also currently taking a CS class at school ( first time offered at her high school) . Hope it’s enough!
Has anyone majoring in Iberian and Latin American Culture and Language been accepted?
@ruzanne My daughter was a non-auto admit (OOS) and heard last week about being accepted as a Biology major in the CNS.
@rahadt The admissions twitter has been saying all week that they will release all through February. I, like you, am hoping for tomorrow but I really don’t think they have any idea when the releases are coming until they actually do hit. there was a wave last week and one the week before( one was small with just liberal arts and the other was large and seemed to include almost everyone but liberal arts )- so hoping each week that some will come.
@bailey101 Good Luck. I am sure she will hear soon.- i know entire schools of students where noone but the auto people have heard about acceptances and then other places where the autos are waiting around for majors and the non autos are in with a major. Makes me wonder if it has to do with your regional reps or something? I also think her choices are fine- both are in the same college so she’s applying to the overall area where she believes she has strength and interest. The wait is hard.
Hopefully there is a Liberal Arts wave coming out soon!
I’ve accepted the fact that I will be the last one to be notified. Either way, something is coming, and you can’t control what it is. So I’ve decided to just go with the flow now.
Maybe I’ll just accept UCLA and go there…
Can anyone predict my chances?
I have a 3.68 unweighted GPA
All IB classes
32 ACT
And where are you getting the information about their admission waves?
Our son applied on October 13 for biomedical engineering else biochemistry, engineering honors (only), presidential scholarship - basically everything. We live in north Houston, Texas. He was an auto-admit. He has good stats and ECs, leadership positions, hospital volunteer, multiple campus visits, and so on. Rank top 3.5% out of ~975 students, ACT 34, SAT 2310 single sitting.
As of this moment, his only notification is that he was an auto-admit. My Status Admissions says, auto admit, but “we’re not sure about your major yet”; Honors says “we are reviewing your application”; Presidential Scholars says “as soon as a decision is made it will be posted here”; Financial Aid says, “if you are admitted, check back to the page for information.”
We are anxiously waiting.
He also applied for all Texas Exes scholarships including Forty Acres, but apparently was not a semi or finalist for any of them.
Very good stats. I would assume his AI is very high. Sounds like his PAI should be pretty good assuming his essays were good. He just picked a very competitive major. Cockrell admissions last year seemed to mostly come out at the very end @WineDrinker.
Check your mystatus page. Today I got my housing contract, so check if you got yours.
@wardroger000 appears to be correct, I’ve seen a bunch of contract postings on the 2020 page
I’m surprised to see no decisions made this week. The wait is unbearable
I have no idea how the housing contract thing works. I’m not sure if I will be living on campus or not If I accept it now can I cancel later?
okay so my major is still under review and i know someone from the FB page who’s major is also under review and they got a contract? I applied for housing in september and i havent gotten anything. I also put i wanted a single space as my first preference but i went back earlier and changed it to shared space as my first because i have someone i want to room with so maybe that’s why I haven’t gotten one?? Idk but i’m so frustrated…
@WineDrinker - love your name by the way. I was glad to read your post to know that we are not alone. DD applied Biomed E and Chem E (2nd choice) in late August. Honors app submitted by Early Sept, and the 40 Acres/scholarship app etc. ((Did not make the cut) She is 28/600 at very competitive HS, 35 ACT, 4.5 GPA (my estimate since her school is 100 pt scale), lots of APs with 4 and 5s. NMSF, (should be a finalist) Captain of the Dance team, summer research, lots of volunteer work and paid work. We have the same “Don’t know about your major yet” and “Honors App in review”…blah blah blah.
She has gotten in to some other great schools but this one is bugging her…wants the option to stay in TX if she so chooses. TAMU is looking pretty good right now. And we had to put down housing deposit on Monday at SRD. But as I have said in earlier posts, my son had similar stats and did not get his major (Chem E) until March (dead last of all of his friends). Every year is so different and crazy. We will be that family dealing with this in late April I fear…
Good luck. I hope they both get great news soon!
“If you’re admitted to the university and accept your offer of admission, you are eligible to be offered a housing contract. Notification of an offer is sent by email, with priority given to those who submitted a housing application earliest.”
Because of your posts, I checked my S account. He had an offer that wasn’t there last week. He had not gotten an email telling him it was there. Thank you for letting us know it was there. It is a very fast expiration date but I assume they want to move on to those who applied later. He applied August 2. The contract says he has to accept it by February 8 and pay the 300 deposit.
The contract says if you cancel before May 1 you will get the money back. After that, you won’t.
