I have an admissions status update from inside UT. According to my Longhorn (who is a current freshman in LAH), UT does not expect to release admissions decisions until very close to their published decision date of March 1. LAH has made all their admissions decisions, but the university has not finished theirs yet. With the automatic admission for the Class of 2020 at 8%, the number of applicants is up this year. UT is also expecting a record number of freshmen next fall.
Before anyone asks, this information was shared with Liberal Arts Honors students in class last week. I realize it’s completely opposite of what @Nc357159 posted above and I can’t explain that, sorry.
The good news is that March 1 is only 2 weeks away.

@FloMoMom But they have already released a lot of decisions since November, are you only talking about LAH? My daughter is still waiting but many of her friends have already heard but they turned in their application very early, she waited till late.
I just noticed something interesting. Although, I’m not sure how accurate it is. Looking at the picture provided by @Nc357159, it says that more than 19k students will be offered a spot. I looked at the previous years statistics and saw that they usually admit 15k. I know that this could be correlated with a higher rate of applicants. But, I’m trying to stay hopeful that this will be good for us!

I applied to the Iberian and Latin American Language and cultures and I really hope I get in! Did anyone else apply to the same major?? I applied in November and still haven’t heard back

@pk2608 it’ll be alright, a few more days! Granted, they’re going to be the slowest days ever but still.
And I don’t think I’ll even get in. I’ve been accepted to tamu and utd. However no scholarships from tamu yet.

Low SAT 1 scores I got a 2000 with a 790 in maths. However I have good SAT 2 scores and Toefl scores. GPA is okayish. In top 12 percent. Decen resume. I’ve heard UTA is ve competitive. Moreover I’ve applied for mech eng which is highly competitive to get into
