More hazing—I suppose the FAMU 2011 death of 26-year-old drum major Robert Champion from hazing wasn’t enough to make an impact on students at FAMU.

Swift and sure punishment might get their attention. Or maybe the powers that be could take a page from the NCAA in the Penn State scandal and hit FAMU in the pocket book. Of course the school doesn’t codone hazing, but drastic measures are needed in Tallahassee.

*The all-female dance team allegedly conducted hazing involving alcohol consumption and “running up hills,” university spokeswoman Sharon Saunders said.

Gosh…girls doing this kind of stuff. I thought mostly only boys did hazing.

Just teach your kids that this can happen…and they won’t believe you of course. But hopefully some part of their brain lights up if the signs appear.

In my hs, the female athletes were the worst for freshman hazing.
What shocks me is that it is still happening on this campus. Normally a campus death will shake things up, but apparently the violence is too ingrained on this campus.

I think there should be a “one strike” policy. It should be explained at the beginning of the year. Involvement in one hazing incident, and you’re out. Not suspended. Gone. If you can’t respect your fellow students enough not to haze them, you have no place at the institution.
