Yea, I also love lower waisted slacks and dislike pleats on slacks. I feel the pleats make me look like I am trying to hide a tummy - and adds unflattering bulk.
Oh! I hope pleats never come back “in!”
Dismayed by how fashionable men’s suits all look as if they were shrunk in the washer. high pants, sleeves above the wrist, short jacket length, very fitted.
I may be the only one, but I actually liked stirrup pants for casual wear.
I’m so over people wearing /tights as pants.
I miss my tretorn sneakers, wish they’d come back around.
Skinny jeans on men. Low waisted pants that show undies.
LOVE high heels! And I love them with cropped slacks! Guess mine is the minority opinion here.
I can’t stand to wear shorts. That it silly since I live in Texas heat. But there has not been a pair of shorts that looked good on me since I was about 22. I will opt for a cargo skirt any hot day over a pair of shorts.
Hate low cut pants. Not curvy enough to keep them up and tired of having to pull them up when they scoot down. I need to wear suspenders with my low slung jeans.
I really love all the boho clothes that are trendy now, especially peasant tops. But I can’t figure out how to put things together to look good like the boho styles in magazines or ads. I end up looking more homeless than stylish. My sons’ girlfriends all put together these cute outfits with crazy items that really shouldn’t look good together, but they always look adorable.
Bare midriffs - just a couple of days ago I saw a 50+ lady and her daughter wearing outfits that revealed their belly buttons (cropped jackets and pants). They were not on the beach - they came into a restaurant where everyone wore nice clothes. Glad that fad ship has sailed… God forbid it comes back!
I dislike pre-ripped clothes and open-toe knee high boots (what is the purpose of those boots anyway?).
I’m so ready for low-waisted pants to go. My hips are straight, so I have nothing to hold those pants up. And I don’t understand the fashion for grown men to wear suits that look like they were bought for their confirmation or bar mitzvah.
I’m getting tired of all these lowcut tops too. But I suppose that trend will be replaced by some other recycled fashion trend that I don’t like either.
I rarely notice or care what people wear so I’m not sure what trends I like or dislike visually (now I could tell you what current hair trend I want to die a firey painful death…) but I can’t stand fashion trends that we know are bad for you. Heels, many flats, very tight clothing, etc. I will never understand why people choose looks over comfort but that’s just me.
Not necessarily clothing fashion, but I wish the man-bun hairstyle on guys would go away.
I was in Hugo Boss the other day and it looks like they are bringing back knit ties. No, no, and no. And purple is everywhere again. Gads.
I’m seeing untied basketball shoes like the 80s. Deliberately lazy is not a style.
You will never convince me (a guy) that high heels and tight pants are a bad thing on women.
Some “fads” look great on certain body types (e.g., peasant tops mentioned by Barfly and menswear). I will make an exception for those even though I personally might not look good in them. Other “fads” do not look good on anyone because the fads are simply tasteless (e.g., pre-ripped pants that look like some child laborers in a sweatshop made those holes, knit ties, certain hairstyles, etc.).
I hate the too-tight clothing trend. It makes people look like they’ve gained weight and are busting out of their clothes.
I have never liked pre-ripped or “distressed” or bleached pants. They just look tacky and cheap, even tho they’re often more expensive than things that don’t have these “features.” I agree that “too tight” clothing is VERY unbecoming and worn all too often and it is indeed a BAD thing that has to go!
Thong underwear peeking above jeans-- TMI…
Wish folks would let go of over sized branding and designer labels. Whether it’s a large C for Chanel, an enormous polo pony or a repetitive LV. It’s an advertisement by any other name and the customer should not be your billboard. Let the design speak for itself.
My husband says narrow ties are coming back. Remember the matchstick ties of the early 60’s? Even I barely remember that and I’m an old person in this group.
I realize that this is different elsewhere, but boat shoes, khakis, and polo shirts need to stop. In my Nashville suburb, almost everybody who dresses like this is a middle or high schooler who is racist, homophobic, sexist, spoiled rotten, or a combination of these. I know it’s different in, say, Georgia or Alabama, but the kids on my bus and in my school have ruined that style for me.
I have always hated the low jeans with thongs showing, the low cut tops and bare midriffs. Thankfully I don’t see nearly as much of those " styles" as I did about 10 years ago.
Yep, the only visible thongs are those that are also known as zoris or slippers and worn on FEET, Thongs meant to adorn other body parts should be INVISIBLE or visible only in bedrooms or similar.
