Fashion fads you love, miss, or wish would go away

While I’m not into tattoos for myself. If a guy is/was in the service and has a Military tattoo I think they look good.

I hate wide legged pants - they flatter almost no one.

Agree. Wide legged pants look good on tall, skinny women with long legs who wear them with moderate heels. On the other 99.99% of the female population, they look ridiculous.

Here is a 6 ft tall model who looks great in camel hair wide legged, high wasted pants. Put them on me, and you will laugh your head off.

I also actually don’t mind man buns on the right guy. As long as the hair is clean, it’s all good.

Oh I thought of another one… fur. I hate the look of fur and I despise everything about the fur industry. I wish we could ban the use of animal products in everything cosmetic-related (including clothes). It’s already been banned in several countries… why it’s still allowed here is beyond me.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a man bun. It must not be popular in my area.

I agree I tend to like the styles that look good on my body. I also have a long torso and shorter legs and arms and a very short neck. I like scarves on other people but I don’t wear them well. I also look silly in cropped pants. They just aren’t flattering on my short legs. I cleaned out my closet before Christmas and I do not even own a dress. My legs are pasty white with tons of spider veins so I keep them covered all the time. I hated pantyhose, but I could not wear a dress without them.

All those big, heavy hipster beards have got to go! I live in a hot climate and I can’t believe how many men put up with that in the summer.

I actually like capris and crop pants, lower waisted (but not super low) pants, and wider leg pants. I don’t think skinny jeans are very flattering unless someone is super skinny. Even then, boot cut would probably look better.

I like Bermuda shorts. I’m so glad that those awful shorts we all wore in the '70’s are gone! The shorty shorts with the piping that went up the side…

I love skinny jeans. I’m slender, but not skinny. They just work for me.

Love the low waisted jeans/pants and a high heel. Hate pleated pants like most other posters and do not like peep toe shoes in general - they remind me of my Grandmother for some reason. Give me a closed toe heeled boot or pump or strappy sandals. I don’t mind a sling back for some reason though. Kind of tired of wedges.

I don’t own cowboy boots but they are extremely popular where I live out West for men and women. The women generally wear the Lucchese boots which are quite pricey for certain styles. I think the dress and cowboy boots can look cute on a young girl. Something like this I see a lot of where I live and it seems to attract a lot of attention from the guys:

Long skirts/dresses work very well for some people, but not for me.

Skinny jeans work for me too for some reason. I think because my legs are relatively thin and I have narrow hips. I love skinny jeans and a tunic.

Meanwhile the skin-tight tops that I frequently try on look horrible on me. I detest that trend.

I think capris look cute on others, but my ankles are always freezing, so none for me. Man buns must not have made it to my locale. I think low waist pants look good on very few people–and they always seem to be hitching them up. Wide leg pants do shorter women no favors–me included.

I think women in general, and especially young career ladies, show far too much cleavage. It’s not professional. Ditto for the tight clothing many of them wear. Also not a fan of the tattoo, especially arm/sleeve/neck ones.

Hoping the feathered bangs and big hair stay away–I never did get my hair “trained”.

I really dislike sheer women’s clothing. Really, what are they supposed to wear with them? Many seem to think the perfect thing is a fluorescent bra or similar. Eek! Many of the tshirts they sell for women are so sheer they’re barely there. The label may say cotton, but it often doesn’t FEEL like cotton from any cotton plant I’m familiar with.

Crop skinny jeans yes, capri pants NO.
Skinny jeans don’t have to be skin-sucking tight. There is skinny and there is skinny-plastered-to-your-skin.

So agree with this. When did it become stylish to wear, as the main event, what used to be considered an undergarment like a camisole?

When I was in college (25-ish years ago) my roommate and I loved to go to aerobics. My roommate always insisted that we wear t-shirts long enough to cover what she termed our “bike pants” - the little spandex type pants bikers used to wear. Of course back then I thought she was cool for having those. I had the plain old gym shorts.

Now I see runners in those nike shortie tights EVERY SINGLE DAY (as small as you can squeeze into) with what looks like a sports bra - and nothing else.

I think the man-bun look is cute on college boys. I know they will out-grow the look eventually and it’s harmless, IMHO. I also didn’t mind the very short-lived pierced eyebrow and green mohawk one of my boys sported. He dropped the look without any comment from Mom! Just glad he didn’t get a tattoo during his very brief (literally 2 month) rebellious stage.

I cannot stand the ponytail look on men with gray hair. I LOVE gray hair on men. But not LONG gray hair. I also love bald men. One bald man. I love one particular bald man. (Yeah Honey I DO love your bald head!)

Someone commented on cowboy boots with skirts. I never liked the cowboy boot look with shorts or skirts UNTIL my kids went to Texas A&M. Then, when I saw all these darling girls heading off to football games in shorts or skirts or t-shirts turned into dresses, with cowboy boots, I must admit I thought it was pretty cute. I mean, let’s face it, it’s better than see-through tops with bra straps showing and thongs visible above the low-cut shorts and below the tramp stamp, right? That sort of puts it in perspective!

What is a “statement necklace” mentioned up-forum?

A statement necklace (to me) is a very large, eye-catching piece of costume jewelry such as a collar or bib style necklace.

I really believe bras are supposed invisibly support instead of being “out there” for all of us to see. Really? Madonna, Lady Gaga, look what you’ve started!

This is my favorite waist height and length
